BEAUTY BOX | Glossybox May 2015 Edition

Does everyone still get excited when they see that characteristic cotton candy pink of a Glossybox? I love that the boxes are so sturdy and can be repurposed for other things as well! I house all of my nail art supplies in them and even some of my makeup. May’s Glossybox edition* came as a surprise in my mailbox and it’s a shame I wasn’t able to pick it up sooner to share with you all!

May Glossybox 2015

Glamglow | Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment

Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment
Thoughts: Glamglow is the latest “trend” when it comes to skincare. I find their masks so expensive for what they are, BUT like every girl I still want to try all of them and although I haven’t purchased a full size of any Glamglow product, samples always seem to make their way into my life and the Dualcleanse treatment is one that I have not tried yet! This is a mud to oil cleansing treatment for all skin types. There is also a NEW mask – FLASHMUD! I’ve only smelled it and yes it smells so good, but I am crossing my fingers for a sample to show up in a Sephora order.

Full size: 1.7oz/$69.00 USD (I know for a fact that’s it’s actually 50mL/$76 CDN at Sephora!)

I received: 0.5oz/$20.29 USD (!!!)

Sebastian Professional | Stylbrid 9 Multi-Benefit Hairspray

Sebastian Professional Stylebrid 9 Hairspray

Thoughts: I’ve used a few Sebastian products before and now I’m going through hairspray like there’s no tomorrow thanks to wearing my hair in curls most of the time. In addition to being a heat protector, this is a lightweight styling product that also adds volume and texture to hair.

Full size: 6.2oz/$19.96 USD

I received: 1.55oz/$4.99 USD

Teeez Trend Cosmetics | Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer in Cadmium Rush

Teez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer in Cadmium Rush

Thoughts: I actually own this colour already from another beauty box and the formula is pretty nice. I think the packaging is cute and although the bottle is uncomfortably tall like the Julep ones, it does make for efficient storage.

Full size: 0.24oz/$14.00 USD

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Doucce | Mineral Matt Lipstick in #907

Doucce Mineral Matte Lipstick

Thoughts: It’s a nice shade of lipstick, but I tend to gravitate to this shade of mauve quite a fair bit which means I already have a number of lip products in this shade, but if you don’t, this one by Doucce is a pretty one. There is also an SPF 10 which I know isn’t high, but I don’t know a lot of lipsticks that even have an SPF rating!

Full size: 0.18oz/$20.00 USD

I received: *FULL SIZE*

Clearista | Retexturizing Gel

Clearista Retexturizing Gel
Thoughts: When I first saw this product, I thought it wouldn’t be for my normal/dry skin, but after reading the fine print a little more it’s not just for refining pores, but smoothing out rough dry patches, skin imperfections and helping with pigmentation. I’ve only just glanced over the ingredients, but it looks like both a chemical and physical exfoliant in a gel base. You can even leave this gel on as a mask and just tissue off the physical exfoliant bits. Very cool!

Full size: 4 oz/$79.99 USD

I received: 0.5oz/$10.00 USD

May Glossybox 2015 (2)

Final Value of May Glossybox: $69.28 USD

Personally, if it weren’t for that Glamglow mask I probably wouldn’t be very thrilled with this box mainly because I already had that nail polish colour and I would have preferred a lipstick in a more bright spring/summer colour. As for the variety of products, the assortment is actually quite well done with something for the hair, face, nails and lips.
