SKINCARE | Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Body Cream and Replenishing Night Cream Reviews

I have noticed that I have had to amp up hydration on all fronts as this winter in Vancouver has been incredibly cold and dry. More so than in previous years. I mean, WTF which is part of the reason why I am back with more from Sibu Beauty! I happily reviewed four of their facial products last week (here) and now I'm back with two more to round out the routine a little more. One of the things I am keeping in mind for this year when it comes to my skin is to put as much "good stuff" on it as possible while still having the products DO something for my skin.

The
Sibu Sea Buckthorn Body Cream* ($17.99 CDN) is meant for all skin types and has a creamy, easily workable consistency. It feels more like a lotion than a cream and while it was hydrating, it was not enough for my legs which currently seem to be drying out like the desert! You know what I did though? I added in a few drops of the Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil and it helped! It also has a slightly citrus scent from lemon and orange essential oils.

Ingredients: DI Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Polyglyceryl-10 Pentastearate, Behenyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Seed Oil, Behenyl Alcohol, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Pulp, Fragrance (orange / lemon oils), Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Shea Butter, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Xanthan Gum, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Unsaponifiables, Sodium Phytate, Panthenol

The Sibu Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream* ($34.99 CDN) is like the regular facial lotion AND sea buckthorn seed oil rolled into one with some bonus anti-aging ingredients from the Brassica family (high amounts of vitamin E). There is also coconut oil and shea butter making this moisturizer pretty heavy duty. It takes quite a while to absorb, but your skin will look so plump and "full" when you wake up in the mornings even if you have had a craptastic night (damn you crazy neighbours!). For those that found the Nourishing Facial Cream to not be hydrating enough, your prayers will be answered with the night cream.

Ingredients: water, sd alcohol 40-b, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, stearic acid, polyglyceryl-10 pentastearate, sea buckthorn seed oil (hippophae rhamnoides), olea europaea (olive) fruit unsaponifiables, phenethyl alcohol, sea buckthorn fruit extract, (hippophae rhamnoides), limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, hydrolyzed rice bran protein, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter extract, panthenol, brassica juncea (brown mustard) sprout extract, brassica oleracea acephala sprout extract, brassica oleracea botrytis (cauliflower) sprout extract, brassica oleracea capitata (cabbage) sprout extract, brassica oleracea italica (broccoli) sprout extract, wasabi japonica root extract, glycine soja (soybean) protein, oxido reductases, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, cucurbita pepo (pumpkin) seed extract, hyaluronic acid, xanthan gum, sea water, sodium stearoyl lactylate, sodium anisate, sodium levulinate, sodium phytate, fragrance (from orange and lemon essential oils)

Final verdict: This is seriously such a great affordable natural skincare line! I am now looking to add the serum to this routine, but may have to wait as these products don't last quite as long others because there are no real preservatives in any of the products.
