I literally did these an hour before writing this post because I had to go "nail naked" for the Vancouver Chickadvisor Showcase yesterday afternoon as we were testing out nail polishes! If you haven't attended this event before, it is open to the public though Chickadvisor was gracious enough to send me a media pass. This is the most estrogen-filled afternoon you will ever have and by the time it's all over, you feel like you are on some sort of adrenaline rush from all of that product speed-dating!
While I was on making my way back home, I mulled over what sort of Halloween-themed nail art I wanted to try next and this gradient haunted house was on my mind. I love painting silhouettes in black paint and though I'm not the best at it, it just looks so good after that top coat goes on! It's the most satisfying thing, really. On this #ManiMonday, I turn to my friends at Avon for some polish options and with purple being one of my favourite colours, I found three awesome Avon shades that were just perfect for what I had in mind.
I started off by painting my nails two coats of Avon True Colour - Lilac Love* and letting that dry for a few minutes. Using a rectangular makeup sponge, create your gradient starting with Lilac Love, Avon Nailwear Pro+ - Orchid Splash* and Avon Nailwear Pro+ - Decadence*. I, then, "blended" my gradient with China Glaze - Fairy Dust. Then start drawing in your Halloween scene with black polish or black acrylic paint. I am using the latter for finer, more detailed control. Seal in your design with a top coat like Avon - Color Shield Top Coat.
Anyone going to any Halloween parties this weekend? You could potentially go to three! All Avon polishes can be purchased through your Avon consultant.
