Showers have been way more fun this month than normal and it's all because of Lush's new Naked Shower Gels and Body Conditioners! I am really hoping that every collection will have something like this because I had quite a bit of fun with these seasonal scents! Or maybe Lush will introduce a solid body conditioner in the "Honey, I Washed the Kids" scent?! How AMAZING would that be?
Let's start with these Naked Shower Gels* ($12.95 CDN - $17.95 CDN) because when I received them I wasn't sure what made them different than just regular soap. The fact that they were shaped like actual bottles was adorable, but now that I have been using the seasonal scents: Bubbly* (shown here), Berry Berry Christmas* and Rose Jam* there are some slight differences. So, ingredients wise these naked shower gels have essentially the same ones as their liquid counterparts, but they have thickening agent, sodium stearate, in them that makes them solid. These are NOT quite like regular bars of soap because they feel almost more "spongy" causing them to absorb more moisture so that you really can just place these "bottles" on the edge of your tub and not have them move around. If you squeeze the bottles, they feel almost like a very hard dough with a slight bit of give.
Other Naked Shower Gel scents include: Snow Fairy, Twilight and Santa's Christmas.
The Lush Body Conditioners are not a new concept with Ro's Argan Body Conditioner being a product you HAVE TO HAVE if you were to call yourself a Lush fan and I have to say that once I got on board with the idea, I was utterly sold. A Body Conditioner is essentially an in-shower moisturizer where, on wet skin, you take these creamy mixtures and moisturize like normal. Then, you rinse off and PAT to dry. My FAVOURITE scent is the holiday edition Christingle* because the moment you rinse off the shea and murumuru butter mixture, your skin feels like someone just blew Dentyne all over. It actually feels cold and I WISH this came out for the summer because the peppermint and spearmint oil just feels so invigorating!
Snow Fairy* was a close second because like many of us, I adore the scent, AND I loved the iridescent shimmer that made me feel like a total princess. Once Upon a Time* was a new scent this year and is one of light juicy apple and is actually a body lotion (applied to dry skin), but I enjoyed its solid counterpart.
Other Body Conditioners (holiday) include: Buck's Fizz
This season, these body conditioners have package-free counterparts with the Christingle and Snow Fairy Naked Body Conditioners also being used on wet skin. I actually prefer the naked versions because then I don't have to bother with opening up a pot and then getting water in the container when I dip my wet hand in! The only thing is that Christingle in naked form is not quite as intense in tingling as in lotion form so I was a bit sad there. Note that the Once Upon a Time Naked Body Lotion should be used on dry skin. Now, to find a container to leave this in after I have moisturized!
Other Naked Body Conditioners include: Buck's Fizz
I hope everyone has a wonderful NYE celebration tonight! I will be staying in with my flu-ridden hubby watching a double feature of Blade Runner 2049 and Die Hard so I will live vicariously through all of your stories and posts!
