You might say that I am "mitten smitten" right now because I adore how cutely this manicure turned out! I was all prepared with winter nail vinyls from Whats Up Nails back in October and NOW look at me. December 27th and I am only using my second set now. For SHAME!
If you haven't used nail vinyls before, loads of companies make them and though for the most part they all work in relatively the same way, there are certain little things that can make a vinyl truly foolproof and Whats Up Nails is my new favourite brand! I used their vinyls for the first time for my Canada Day nail art and loved them. All of their vinyls have a tab so you can easily get a good grip to pull off and apply the vinyl and they are not overly sticky either. Too sticky of a vinyl can be bad too! They are also a bit more stiff so that when you peel off the vinyl, you won't find yourself punching out the little bits that are left behind or finding that your vinyl has folded onto itself. All of this sounds totally anal retentive I'm sure, but it's the little things I tell ya!
For this wintery manicure, I used two coats of the new for December Picture Polish London (SO GORGEOUS!) and applied a fast drying top coat. I used Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat*.

Once my nails were dry, I carefully positioned my Mitten Vinyls ($3.75 USD) so that at least two full mittens were showing on the nails and applied one thick coat of Essie Be Cherry!* from the Essie Winter 2017 Collection. Peel off the vinyls with the handy tab and you are left with mittens you just want to squeeze!
Apply another coat of top coat and you are all good! Now, all I can think of is that song Mittens by Carly Rae Jepsen now. It's just too appropriate of a song!
You can find Whats Up Nails vinyls at online at www.nailpolishcanada.com and store.whatsupnails.com. I got Picture Polish London also at www.nailpolishcanada.com.
