HOLIDAY | My Favourites from the Wonderful World of Lush Christmas

Well, Christmas has come and gone and I tried so hard to get this Lush post up and running before the 25th, but I honestly woke up and stayed in a sort of groggy trance the whole day as I was just so exhausted. It was good to take it easy, but I did feel sad not sharing these Lush goodies with you all even though I am sure many of you stocked up leading up to the holiday and then AGAIN during Lush's annual BOGO sale on Boxing Day! I have done the 6am PST shopping trip before and decided this year that I really DO have enough bath products, but maybe some of you picked up these Lush delights that caught my eye when I was in store a few weeks ago!

Lush Christmas Collection

Though I did get a Lush press package, the Christmas collection is massive that I always end up going to the store and adding a couple more pieces that have never been featured on Cosmetic Proof or just look like very strange products that you are unsure of buying. That's where I like to come in to help you decide how to spend those bard-earned dollars of yours!

The first item that caught my eye was this super cute paper Butterbear ($3.95 CDN) soap that is made of apple pump that has been dehydrated and rolled by hand. This is probably the ONLY Lush product that you will literally be able to slide inside a gift card without paying any extra postage! The scent is a blend of vanilla, vegan musk and ylang ylang oil making it not overly sweet and can be used in the shower or on-the-go when you are out and don't have any soap to wash up! Surprisingly enough, this soap didn't disintegrate easily like I thought it would and was quite solid!

You're probably wondering just HOW to use this and you have a few options! If you are out and about and need to wash your hands, the girl at the store told me to break off about an "ear", get it wet and start washing, but I found it challenging to keep that little piece from getting washed away with the water. A larger piece would be better, but then I'd have to find a way to store it while it dries. In the shower, you can easily just run it under water and use it as it or rub it on a loofah.

If you have never tried one of Lush's luxury bath melts, you are in for a "treet" with this one! Tree D ($6.95 CDN) is a citrus blend made of cocoa butter and almond oil that will honestly leave your skin oh-so-soft. I used a few luxury melts in Vegas because our room had the perfect tub and I was very impressed with how hydrated my skin felt.

The Man in the Moon ($12.95 CDN) is one of Lush's classic crumbly bubble bars and is made of fair trade organic cocoa butter and frankincense oil. It has a slightly citrus scent of neroli and lime oil and is fairly dense so two baths out of this guy is EASY.

At first, I didn't think I would be picking up this Golden Pear ($8.95 CDN), but when I saw and smelled this soap in store, it was just like food! This is made with coconut oil, cocoa butter and actual pear puree! Its two halves meet in the middle where there is blend of moisturizing murumuru butter and almond oil. Cute, right? The glitter is also very enticing and I cannot get over how lovely and just PRETTY this pear is!

This Christmas Cracker ($11.95 CDN) is a bubble bar that is a blend of lemon and lime oil AND the best part? Actual crackling popping candy! So fun! If you are a citrus scent fan, this bubble bar is intensely invigorating and will feel like a someone zinged your brain with a shot of caffeine!

The Snow Fairy Sparkle Jar ($9.95 CDN) was one of those things that I saw in October which made me think to myself, "How useful would this be in my life?" as well as "I must have a SPARKLE JAR!" Like many of you, I look forward to Snow Fairy in my life during the holiday season and what this baby is is a jar that is both physically a moisturizer made of cocoa butter AND full of iridescent talc of the same scent! The way I have been using this is moisturizing my body with the jar (with my palm covering the holes!) and then lightly dusting my body with the powder to get rid of the tackiness.

These were my new favourites from this year's Lush holiday collection and now on to Part 2 where I talk about my new found love for their solid shower gels and body conditioners!
