I have been a good little nail artist and have had this and NEXT WEEK'S ManiMonday prepared for the last 2 weeks! Since the theme for this month is glitter, I have been using a peel-off basecoat which means that yes, the glitter comes off with an easy peel, BUT my manicures last only for 1-3 days. If I wash my hands a lot, the manicure might not even make it a full 24 hours...which is why I have had the chance to paint my nails more frequently! The CBB is also focusing on Canadian brands so you will be seeing London Drugs house brand, Prim + Proper, in this post and the next few since they are a 7-free brand as well as vegan!
I have been wanting to use Cirque Colors Tanzanite, a midnight blue glitter, for so long and as much as I wanted to just wear it alone (I still might...), I wanted to pair it off with a nice pink and Prim + Proper First Nation, was PERFECT! I applied two coats of First Nation and then free-handed a V-shape of Tanzanite. I was going to use tape to give a super straight line, but I realized that using a peel-off base coat meant that I might actually rip off the base polish when peeling off the tape hence the free-handing.
I then added a bit of pizzazz with some gold studs and the top-coated everything with CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat. Overall, I liked the colour combination and would wear either polish again. First Nation and Tanzanite could have both been one coaters and were deliciously opaque to apply!
