Shu Uemura and Maison Kitsune are back with this year's summer Camo Collection! Unlike the previous Maison Kitsune Christmas collection that was characteristic of Shu's bright and fun esthetic, this collection is smoky and cool and makes me feel like I should be vaping while wearing one of these lipsticks. Though there is also an eyeshadow palette as well as an Ultime8 Cleansing Oil, I am all over these incredible lipsticks!

The Matte Supreme Lip Colors have some of the nicest liquid lipstick formulas I have ever used as they deliver a POW of colour with a completely weightless texture. There are four shades in the Camo Collection with me wearing the red M RD 163* and the light orange M OR 570* in the photos below - both of which I just cannot get enough of! I have more of these in the regular packaging so I really should show you how awesome the other shades are!
Being such bright colours, it pays off to go slowly with application and once it's on, though it's not completely budgeproof, will pretty much stay locked in place for the day. It is a matte finish which isn't drying and though I wouldn't say it's moisturizing either, it feels light enough on the lips that I don't notice I'm really wearing lipstick.
The Rouge Unlimited Matte Lipsticks in this collection come in 9 new shades and have weightless and hydrating formula. They are the matte lipstick formula with silicone in it that make my lips feel plump and cushiony and though I have a fairly loud shade of magenta (M PK 378*), the comfort level is like I'm wearing an "easy nude". You know, there are certain lipsticks where you KNOW that no matter how shaky your application skills are that day, your lips are still going to look BANGIN' and that is how this formula has always made me feel.
Even though I was expecting the Matte Supremes to stain my lips upon removal, it was actually the Rouge Unlimited Matte Lipstick! My lips were happily pink for a day even after oil-based makeup remover AND a facial!
Though I was tempted to pick up the eyeshadow palette as well, it is a pricey one at $115 CDN and though I know the quality is always outstanding, I have a number of Shu palettes that I could use to create the same palette arrangement and in the spirit of sticking to my declutter rule, I just couldn't justify it.
The Camo Collection is a small, but tight one and can be found at www.shuuemura.ca and Shu Uemura counters.
