I know that as we get older, matte lip products are not the most flattering unless you have a little "lip plumper" help, but truthfully as much as I love glossy lips, they never last when I am at work because of the AC. They constantly dry out and I find myself having to reapply because they feel so dry, but generally the colour ends up vanishing because I get too busy with other things to go back to my office and reapply my lipgloss which has left me with sticking to matte lipsticks purely for longevity. As today is International Lipstick Day, it felt like the perfect opportunity to share the Marcelle Lip Loving Matte Comfort Liquid Lipsticks!

When these Face Shop Rouge Powder Matte Lipsticks first launched through Avon over the summer, I was fully convinced that I would wear even MORE makeup at work because I now needed some heavy duty, long-lasting products to make sure things didn't budge under my face mask, but things changed rather quickly once Fall/Winter came around. I feel like a bit of a fraud reviewing lip products other than balms, glosses and serums now, but if I don't use lipsticks in this space, I will probably never use them again for the foreseeable future so think of my lipstick posts as an ode to what I miss about life pre-pandemic!

MAKEUP | YSL Beauty Rouge Pur Couture Stud Collectors 2019 with Swatches

YSL has some pretty makeup with pretty packaging, but eight years ago this brand became one that I will ALWAYS have a soft spot for because I was PROPOSED to with an engagement ring at the bottom of a box of Touche Eclat! I have kept that EXACT Touche Eclat as well as the box as a treasured memory and though it's probably not safe to use on my skin anymore, I'm probably never going to throw it away (or look to see if there is anything growing on it...) Now, I have yet another thing(s) that I will never be able to get rid of because this limited edition Rouge Pur Couture Stud Collectors packaging is SO CUTE and striking! Inspired by rocker chic studs, these came out late last year and I wish I had paid more attention, but Christmas is always so crazy for me at work that I'm pretty much on autopilot until Dec. 27th!

MAKEUP | Avon Soft Matte Liquid Lip with Swatches

I know matte lipsticks aren't everyone's cup of tea and it took me a long time to get onboard, but now I am there and I will wear anything from nude to bright red to purple so let's say hello to the new Avon Soft Matte Liquid Lips! These lipsticks come in 8 pigmented shades that feel weightless and featherlight and contain poppy seed oil and vitamin E for comfort. This non-drying formula is supposed to last for hours on end while still looking fabulous until the very end of the day so let's see how they performed!

MAKEUP | Shu Uemura x Maison Kitsune Camo Lip Swatches

Shu Uemura and Maison Kitsune are back with this year's summer Camo Collection! Unlike the previous Maison Kitsune Christmas collection that was characteristic of Shu's bright and fun esthetic, this collection is smoky and cool and makes me feel like I should be vaping while wearing one of these lipsticks. Though there is also an eyeshadow palette as well as an Ultime8 Cleansing Oil, I am all over these incredible lipsticks!

MAKEUP | Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip with Swatches

I have worn a matte lip almost every day for the last 2.5 months and almost every day it has been one of the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipsticks! Granted I have stuck to the more neutral shades, even getting to the half empty point on one of them, but these have truly become one of my favourite lip products for both their comfort level and performance!

MAKEUP | Suva Beauty Saffron Collection

This is one of those collections where when I finally took the time to photograph and play I WISHED I had brought it out sooner because the colours, the formula were so glorious it pained me to know that I had been missing out all this time, but as you saw from my palette clean out, I have a tendency to let eyeshadow palettes sit untouched and become wall art. The Suva Beauty Saffron Collection is one inspired by immigrant families. Suva's founder, Shaina Azad, used her Fijian upbringing filled with memories of family gatherings to come up with Hindi-named shades like "Badnam" and "Besharam" as well as a spice-inspired eyeshadow palette.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! If you are a beauty lover, I am sure you have already shopped at Sephora three times over in the last month, but if you are still needing a few gift ideas, the Sephora Collection never disappoints and it is possible that I may have stocked up on a few of these for next year! It also may or may not have been the sheet masks LOL!

MAKEUP | SUVA Beauty Moisture Matte Liquid Lipsticks with Full Face Lip Swatches

First there were insanely pigmented and gorgeous eyeshadows and now there are brand new liquid lipsticks from SUVA Beauty! There are times I wonder if I still even WANT to try yet another liquid lipstick, but I realize now that I am starting to wear more matte liquid lipsticks than before and can never resist trying different formulas! To me, the most important qualities of a good liquid lipstick are comfort, ease of application and longevity - all of which are promised by SUVA Beauty's new Moisture Matte Liquid Lipsticks!
