My memories of the Freeman Beauty brand are of the massive tubes of peel-off masks that I truly thought I would get through! Their masks were always so affordable that as a teenager, my allowance really went a long way and now that I have moved towards sheet masks, Freeman has created a whole line of Beauty Infusion masks to accompany me into this new obsession of my life with prices ranging from just $2.99 to $4.99! All masks are free from parabens and sulfates and focus on plant-based ingredients.

There are three hydrogel masks - two for the face and one for just the eye area. I have yet to use the one for the eye area, but my guess is that it will be similar to the full face hydrogel masks in terms of results. What I love about hydrogel is the cushion and jelly-like aspect to the mask as they tend to fit around the curves of the face quite nicely and feel refreshing and cooling.
Moisturizing Hydrogel*
The Moisturizing Hydrogel Mask uses coconut fruit extract and hyaluronic acid to provide a boost of hydration for normal and dry skin and what's even better is that these featured ingredients are actually in the first half of the list!
Mask Summary:
Price: $4.99 CDN
Scent: Artificial coconut
Essence Type: Gel
Duration: 15 minutes
Thickness: Standard hydrogel
Mask Fit: Good as it was also a two-piece mask allowing for better fit.
Tackiness: None
Hydration: Not enough for me. Really needed moisturizer afterwards.
Other notes: The preservative phenoxyethanol is found in a higher concentration than featured ingredient hyaluronic acid. I prefer the preservative to be closer to the end of the ingredients list.
Firming Hydrogel*
The Firming Hydrogel Mask replenishes moisture and claims to instantly improve elasticity with the use of Blue Marine Algae and various peptides which are all found around the halfway point of the ingredients list.
Mask Summary:
Price: $4.99 CDN
Scent: Cotton
Essence Type: Gel
Duration: 15 minutes
Thickness: Standard hydrogel
Mask Fit: Good - in 2 pieces.
Tackiness: None
Hydration: My skin felt ok, but I felt the need to use moisturizer afterwards and cannot really say whether elasticity was increased immediately.
Other notes: Hydrogel has a blue tint and again phenoxyethanol was also around the halfway point and in a higher concentration than two of the peptides.
The next three masks are all made of 100% cotton and are the traditional style sheet masks we have all seen before where anyone who wears one looks like a ghost!
Revitalizing Sheet Mask*
The Revitalizing Sheet Mask promises to boost radiance using pomegranate extract for its antioxidant properties and various peptides.
Mask Summary:
Price: $3.99 CDN
Scent: Lightly scented like pomegranate
Essence Type: Light and slightly watery
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium, but material was soft and soaked up essence well
Mask Fit: Okay - a bit big on the sides and I had to fold a lot
Tackiness: Zero (there is dimethicone in the ingredients list so I knew the mask wouldn't be sticky)
Hydration: Good on the face, but I felt a bit dry around the eyes. I used a light moisturizer afterwards.
Other notes: Similar comments about the concentration of the preservative phenoxyethanol being higher than featured ingredients like the pomegranate extract and all peptides.
Brightening Sheet Mask*
Now, we get to the good stuff which are the masks that I always tend to pick up - brightening and hydration! The Brightening Sheet Mask promises to boost luminosity and even out skin tone with hibiscus, vitamic C and niacinamide.
Mask Summary:
Price: $2.99 CDN
Scent: Fruity
Essence Type: light gel
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium, soft material
Mask Fit: A bit big with lots of folds
Tackiness: Zero and contained no dimethicone!
Hydration: Good on the face, but I felt a bit dry around the eyes. I used a light moisturizer afterwards.
Other notes: Same comments about preservative phenoxyethanol being in a higher concentration than all three ingredients featured above. Ascorbic acid and hibiscus extract are also in the lower half of the ingredients list so potency might be questionable.
Hydrating Sheet Mask
I actually purchased this from Wal-Mart as it was the first time I had ever seen Freeman Beauty sheet masks on sale in Canada and wanted to give it a try. The Hydrating Mask was probably my favourite in terms of overall glow and features manuka honey and collagen to boost skin moisture levels.
Mask Summary:
Price: $2.99 CDN
Scent: Faint honey
Essence Type: light gel
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium, soft material
Mask Fit: A bit big with lots of folds
Tackiness: Zero and contains no dimethicone!
Hydration: Good! I could see a visible boost to my skin's overall glow!
Other notes: Same comments about preservative phenoxyethanol being in a higher concentration than ingredients featured above. Honey and hydrolyzed collagen are also in the lower half of the ingredients list so efficacy might be questionable.
Cleansing Sheet Mask*
The Cleansing Sheet Mask is made of 100% bamboo and contains charcoal, to draw out oils, as well as probiotics like lactobacillus to balance the skin. There are also brightening ingredients liks niacinamide and pearl powder to enhance the clear complexion we should have after using this mask!
Mask Summary:
Price: $2.99 CDN
Scent: Like most charcoal sheet masks - kind of herbal
Essence Type: light gel
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Medium, but material was soft and no chin goatee formed
Mask Fit: Good! Way better than the white cotton masks.
Tackiness: Zero. Contains dimethicone which helps in avoiding tackiness.
Hydration: Good on the face, but I felt a bit dry around the eyes. I used a light moisturizer afterwards.
Other notes: Same comments about preservative phenoxyethanol being in a higher concentration than all featured ingredients featured. The probiotic component is also closer to the end of the ingredients list.

Final verdict: Congratulations if you have made it to the end! That was a lot of masks! If you have made it here, my feelings about the ingredients are evident, but what I will say is that the affordability of these masks is a definite thumbs up! You can easily grab all of these as stocking stuffers or for yourself without breaking the bank!
The mask materials were all quite nice with even the thicker cotton still sitting nicely on my skin without my needing to re-adjust. When it comes to ingredients in sheet masks, I am much more forgiving compared to an actual serum or more targeted skincare product as I know certain ingredients would just never work stored away for a one-time use sheet mask. I also know that this type of product has certain preservation techniques that are required, but I have used TONS of sheet masks with plant-based ingredients that didn't have phenoxyethanol at the top of the list all the time, so my one wish for these sheet masks is to find a way to move this preservative closer to the end of the ingredients list.
You can find Freeman Beauty at mass drugstores across Canada.
