SHEET MASK | A By BOM Ultra Night Leaf Mask #SheetMaskSunday

I am on a small 4-day staycation so I started it off on Sunday by sleeping for 10 hours. It was the first time I hadn't set an alarm for myself so just let my body do what it wanted to do. It felt really good to do although I always feel guilty whenever I sleep in past 9am. I feel like as we get older, we want to do more with our day and getting up earlier, makes me feel more accomplished at least mentally! So, it obviously isn't Sunday today, but I am a sucker for sticking to a routine and I have blogged about a sheet mask every Sunday since the pandemic started a year ago and have enjoyed doing this so here's to a #SheetMaskSunday on a Monday!

I have talked about my love of Korean brand A. by Bom before and when it comes to targeted sheet masking and mask patches, they are one of the prettiest to wear with the Ultra Night Leaf Mask being no exception. This is a two step mask featuring two night leaf patches for the cheeks to brighten, soothe and hydrate followed by a protecting, hydrating night mask. For some reason, I thought that this night mask was another sheet mask like A. by Bom's previous masks, but in fact the "sheet mask" was just two giant (but pretty!) calendula flowers on my cheeks!

There was so much essence left in the packet with the cheek patches that I was easily able to cover the rest of my face so it's not like only my cheeks were getting the good stuff! The essence itself contains brightening niacinamide and calming plant extracts like sunflower, cornflower, calendula and althaea rosea extract just to name a few. All of these ingredients are also at the very top of the ingredients list.

Once you have removed the calendula flower mask patches, apply the night mask all over the face. This night mask reminded me a lot of the Laneige Sleeping Mask with its cyclepentasiloxane base making it spreadable and feel lightweight on the skin. There is also ginger, honey and ginseng which further protect the skin and promotes healing overnight.

Mask Summary:

Price: $35 CDN/Box of 5 (I've seen ranges from $3.99 - $4.99 USD)
Skin concerns: Hydration
Scent: Lightly floral
Essence Type: Clear viscous
Duration: Packaging says 5-10 minutes, but there was so much essence that I left the masks on for 30 minutes without any issues.
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Good, but since these are patches this is a lot easier to achieve!
Tackiness: Light
Hydration: With the night mask, REALLY good and did not feel too heavy.
Other notes: My cheeks did look brighter and felt cooled which makes sense as this was the only area that was masked.

Final verdict: Super cute concept and the night mask has actually lasted SUCH a long time! I just did my 4th application last night and I think I can do one more so there is quite a bit of product in there! The targeted masking concept is a nice one when you don't feel like committing to a full sheet mask and even though it seems like I don't feel that way most of time, there are days where I don't want to bother with the whole thing so these are perfect.

You can find the A By BOM Ultra Night Leaf Mask at various Korean retailers.
