BEAUTY BOX | May Birchbox – Curated by Emily Shuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere!

The blog Cupcakes and Cashmere was one of the first blogs I started reading because let's face it, Emily Shuman is a veteran when it comes to this blogging world and her book is the ONLY coffee table book that I have ever thought worthy of purchasing. Her 5 Favourite Things segment is one of my favourites and have always loved how easy she seems to make any task from baking a pie to putting together an outfit for a night out. Imagine how excited I was when I heard that the May Birchbox* was to be curated by the one and only Emily Shuman!

Topbox | August 2014 Edition (My Last One…It’s the End of a Beauty Box Era!)

I pulled the cord and ended my Topbox sub in September due to the an overwhelming number of products in my life and the lack of excitement I was feeling from each Topbox. I have been a Topbox subscriber since November 2011, so it was a big part of my beauty blogging life. I do still LOVE their limited edition FLARE and LOULOU boxes so I will definitely have my eye on those!

August’s Topbox was fairly lackluster for me which is what really got me to break up with Topbox, but I believe the Jayne from 2011 would have really loved it because she had so little product back then. Nonetheless, I would use 50% of the items in this box, but that always seems to be the case with all of my more recent Topboxes. Shall we dive in?

Wantable Box | September Makeup Box (Non-PR Version)

You’re not experiencing deja vu nor have I forgotten that I have already posted about my September Wantable Box, but today I just thought I’d share with you my non-PR Wantable Box. I have already been a subscriber of Wantable since their debut in Canada earlier this year and was curious to see if a regular subscriber box would be any different than a PR box. I used two different email addresses for sign up so I am fairly certain now that the PR box I received is a fair depiction of what any subscriber would receive in their box. The non-PR version was just as awesome and I only received one duplicate product!

Wantable Box | September Makeup Box Ft. Jordan Liberty

I’ve been such a good little girl, I haven’t had a Wantable box since June so when I was given the opportunity to review one, I figured it had been long enough and had some room in my makeup emporium. Wantable began as either a makeup or jewellery subscription box, but recently Wantable has added an Intimates box and right now there is even a limited edition Halloween box! This month’s box is curated by Jordan Liberty whom I have never heard of, but I will trust that this person has good taste!

What makes Wantable so different from all of the others is firstly, that all of the items are full sized. There are occasionally sample items, but they do not count towards the overall value of the box and are purely bonus items. Secondly, before your first box is shipped out to you, Wantable asks you to take a survey to curate what you receive in your box and the brilliant part is, they listen to what you say! I’ve never received anything that I didn’t want. This is probably one of the more expensive subscription boxes at $36/month or $40 for a one time purchase. You can skip a month though or even two in my case so having that flexibility is also what has kept me a Wantable customer since their launch earlier this year.

I always choose the makeup option as I am not the biggest fan of costume jewellery. After waiting for a nail polish to appear in my Wantable box, I finally received one for September!
