Wantable Box | September Makeup Box Ft. Jordan Liberty

I’ve been such a good little girl, I haven’t had a Wantable box since June so when I was given the opportunity to review one, I figured it had been long enough and had some room in my makeup emporium. Wantable began as either a makeup or jewellery subscription box, but recently Wantable has added an Intimates box and right now there is even a limited edition Halloween box! This month’s box is curated by Jordan Liberty whom I have never heard of, but I will trust that this person has good taste!

What makes Wantable so different from all of the others is firstly, that all of the items are full sized. There are occasionally sample items, but they do not count towards the overall value of the box and are purely bonus items. Secondly, before your first box is shipped out to you, Wantable asks you to take a survey to curate what you receive in your box and the brilliant part is, they listen to what you say! I’ve never received anything that I didn’t want. This is probably one of the more expensive subscription boxes at $36/month or $40 for a one time purchase. You can skip a month though or even two in my case so having that flexibility is also what has kept me a Wantable customer since their launch earlier this year.

I always choose the makeup option as I am not the biggest fan of costume jewellery. After waiting for a nail polish to appear in my Wantable box, I finally received one for September!

Michael Marcus | Eye Shadow in SecretDSC_0345

Our superb eye shadows offer incredible staying power and strong blendable pigments.

Thoughts: I love the fact that the compacts are refillable and have a magnetic base. The colour I received is also beautifully pigmented although not the softest eye shadow I've used.

I received: 1 eye shadow/$24.00

29 Cosmetics | Reserves Grapeseed Age Protecting Moisturizing Lipstick SPF 20 in Expressive RoseDSC_0347

Long-lasting grape seed antioxidant enriched moisturizing lipstick nourishes and protects the lips from environmental pollutants and the harmful effects of free radicals. Helps lips appears smooth and moisturized while visibly easing the signs of aging.

Thoughts: I love love the packaging of this lipstick and oh my goodness is it soft and smooth to apply! I barely had to press before the colour appeared! The colour is not quite as red as it appears and is MUCH softer once applied. I have to start using this right away!

I received: 4.5g/$25.00

LAQA & CO. | Nail Polish in Greedy GutsDSC_0349

Oh so sexy Red! Packaging artwork is created by Million Dollar Design. This polish is 3-free, paraben-free and cruelty free!

Thoughts: Outer packaging is very cool and when I had a look at the website, it looks like there are different designers involved in the packaging of each box. Of course, we don’t keep the boxes so the design gets lost, but for first impressions I was quite pleased! The colour is a gorgeously rich red which I will have to show off in a full swatch! It’s just that pretty! The downside is that when I went to the website to inquire about ordering more, ordering just three polishes costs us Canadians $20 to ship…

I received: 9mL/$11.00

Manna Kadar | Blush in “The Big O”DSC_0350

Our custom formulated blush offers a special light texture which glides on smoothly and evenly and provides the perfect amount of colour to give your face a healthy glow.

Thoughts: As much as I love the name of the product and the colour, I probably already have this shade in my makeup collection. It has a slight shimmer to it and is certainly a shade that would work for most skin tones except maybe the very dark ones.

I received: 6g/$19.00

Cailyn Cosmetics | Ultra Moisturizing Lip Colour Pot in Dolce VitaDSC_0351

These ultra moisturizing lip colour pots leave a true colour on lips and deep moisturization.

Thoughts: This is a very pretty colour, smells like vanilla and contains Vitamin E. This provides just a hint of colour, kind of like the Korres lip butters, but not as soft.

I received: 7g/$14.00

Skinn | Instant Skin Tightener and Line Filler SampleDSC_0352

A solution that tightens and lifts sagging skin and wrinkles in a matter of minutes.

Thoughts: This was the bonus item in September’s Wantable box and does not show a value on the product sheet. It’s purely a bonus. It looks like liquid skin and I look forward to using this product around my eyes.

Total Value of September Wantable Box: $93.00

For a box that someone will pay anywhere from $36-$40, this box was well worth the value! There was a product for every part of your face and it wasn’t all shampoo and skincare! In fact, you will never see that ever! Overall, I would certainly recommend Wantable as the product selection in each box is wonderful and the customer service would put a lot of other places to shame! It is an expensive subscription though, but because of the skip factor, you can put the box on hold until you’re ready to pay for one again which is something that I’ve really enjoyed. It’s also easy to skip. Just click “skip” and you’re done. There are no email back and forth with customer service, it’s easy and doesn’t take up your entire day!

If any of you would like to sign up for Wantable you can either sign up though the website or use my referral link!
