HAIR | COLAB Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo in Rio Tropical and London Classic Review
It has been a long time since I have talked about a dry shampoo. That’s because I’m not really impressed by a whole lot of them. I truly did not think I would find a new favourite since the Finesse dry shampoo (review), but then COLAB showed up. In collaboration with model and blogger, Ruth Crilly, COLAB Dry Shampoo both smells amazing (like an actual fragrance!) and WORKS to keep hair from feeling “lived in”. They also spray clear and do not leave a heavy residue behind (dark-haired beauties celebrate!).This debut collection comes in two scents: Rio*($5.49 CDN for 50mL/$9.99CDN for 200mL), a tropical blend of papaya, pineapple and heart of cassis and London*, a blend of bergamot, musk and magnolia. London won me over immediately and was the first can I completely finished! I loved how sophisticated and refreshing the scent was and may have gone a little crazy with the spraying at times…I finished Rio shortly after and just 2 days ago, ran out and bought the full size! I cannot get enough of this stuff!
Final Verdict: While these dry shampoos don’t add a ton of volume to your hair, they do a great job of absorbing oil right at the root. There were days when I would forget that I hadn’t washed my hair because my roots still looked fresh. The scent of London is to die for and words cannot convey how grateful my nose is for coming into contact with this scent. I just LOVE it. I just wish the full size wasn’t quite so expensive because I powered through both of these bottles fairly quickly. Although, that may have been because I was having a little too much fun with my dry shampoos! If you love the spray type of dry shampoo, oh God, you have GOT to give these COLAB ones a try!
I love cosmetics | Raspberry & Blackberry Body Butter and Strawberries & Cream Bubble Bath and Shower Creme
When it comes to things I love, food and bath products are right up there for me in terms of determining my happiness and when these two things are combined I am like a kitten on catnip! I have sniffed the I love… products while perusing the aisles of Shoppers Drug Mart and could never decide on a scent because they all smelled so deliciously edible! I love… is a company based in the UK that prides itself on paraben-free formulations along with only natural additives for their bath and body line of products.
Real Techniques | Miracle Complexion Sponge
I don’t talk about Real Techniques often enough do I? I am addicted to their multi-task brush that I use for blush as well as their kabuki blush and bronzer brush, but I need to talk about one of the newer “brushes” in the form of the Miracle Complexion Sponge ($9.99) which is a 3-in-1 multi-functional sponge. It has rounded sides to the blend larger areas of the face, a precision tip to cover any imperfections and a flat edge to contour around the eyes and nose. Sounds like this sponge took the best qualities of all makeup sponges out there and made a MEGAAA SPONGE!
Splat Hair Chalk | Dusty Rose with MANY Hair Pictures!
I have COMPLETELY virgin hair. No Sun-In, temporary colour, nothing. I have vowed to only start colouring it when I get my first grey which will most likely be VERY soon seeing as how I will be celebrating my 31st birthday in two weeks! With my dark hair, I have always liked blue or purple accents and when I saw Splat Hair Chalk ($8.99) I thought that maybe this could be my toe-dip into the world of coloured hair! I decided to try the colour Dusty Rose which looked more pink in the pan, but with dark hair like mine I expect everything I try to come out not quite as intense as what’s on the box, but even so I was VERY pleased with the results!
Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge | Week 5: Pressed Sea Kelp Dead Sea Mud Spa Masque
Welcome to the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge!
This is the last week of our Montagne Jeunesse challenge and this week’s mask was probably the one I was most curious about because the Pressed Sea Kelp Dead Sea Mud Spa Masque ($2.49) is a fabric that is soaked in mud. Love it.
Introducing new ground-breaking face masques that deliver a unique, enhanced cleansing experience. Specially sourced clays are infused into natural bamboo fabric making deep cleansing your skin quicker, easier and more convenient than ever before - creating a whole new type of face masque, a world's first in face care.
Dead Sea Mud rich in minerals, draws out impurities and opens blocked pores.
Dead Sea Salt known for healing and therapeutic effects.
Seaweed restores moisture levels & revitalizes and firms skin leaving it hydrated and cleansed.
Kelp packed with vitamins and minerals keeping skin nourished & moisturized, it also helps regenerate skin cells and helps with anti-aging.
Although it doesn’t say directly what skin type this mask is for, it is a very hydrating mask so normal to dry skin types will definitely be okay and even oily skin types as this mask is also quite clarifying.
Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge | Week 4: Crushed Apricot and Mango Masque
Welcome to the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge!
I am a little late with Week 4 due to life in general, but I am happy to report that you will all get to see me in yet one more MJ mask selfie! Week 4 was all about scrub masks for me which happen to be one of my favourite types of masks so my excitement was tangible when the time came to try out the Crushed Apricot and Mango Masque ($1.99).
Bursting with sweet mango this rich facial scrub deep cleanses & revitalizes. Crushed Apricot Kernels remove dead skin cells whilst Aloe Vera softens & soothes, leaving skin radiant.
This masque is suitable for combination, oily, dry and normal skin types since exfoliation is necessary for ALL SKIN TYPES. If there is one thing you need to do to brighten up your skin, it’s to EXFOLIATE. Seriously, it makes a huge difference.
Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge | Week 3: Virgin Olive Oil Deep Cleansing Masque
Welcome to the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge!
It is the third week of the CBB Mask Off sponsored by FarleyCo Beauty so if you’ve missed the other weeks, check out Week 1 and 2! This week, the Virgin Olive Oil Deep Cleansing Masque ($1.99) up on the testing block and like all Montagne Jeunesse masques is vegan-friendly and paraben-free.
Nourish with our cold pressed Virgin Olive Oil mud masque for soft and supple skin. We’ve added ultra-moisturising rich Shea & Cocoa butter to leave your skin super smooth and deeply cleansed.
Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge | Week 2: Green Tea Squeezed Lemon Peel Off Detox & Pore Cleansing Masque
Welcome to the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Montagne Jeunesse Masque Challenge!
It is the second week of the CBB Mask Off sponsored by FarleyCo Beauty so if you’ve missed the first week, check out it here! This week’s theme is “peel-off” and I received the Green Tea Squeezed Lemon Peel Off Detox & Pore Cleansing Masque ($1.99) which is vegan-friendly and paraben-free.
Montagne Jeunesse Squeezed Lemon, Green Tea & Ginger Masque. Detox & Pore Cleanse with our new Green Tea Peel Off Masque for a deep cleansed, toned complexion. Experience the well being of natural minerals, young Green Tea, root Ginger and reviving properties of squeezed Lemon to uplift and refresh skin.
I feel like this mask is suitable for most skin types as there is no clay in it which is usually what aggravates dry/sensitive skin. It does have fresh lemon in it though that the ingredient list actually says was “squeezed from fruit” so if you think you might react to citrus then this mask might not be for you. The scent, it smelled more floral to me than of either lemon or green tea.
Get Ready for Spring Skincare Kit and Giveaway!
More hours of sunshine and longer days can only mean one thing. Winter is finally over and spring has arrived! Even though it has been Spring for a couple of weeks, my skin still feels like it has been recovering from what feels like one of the driest winters I have ever experienced! It’s either that or entering my 30s hit me like a ton of (very dry) bricks. Thank goodness the folks at Farley Co. Beauty have us all taken care of!
