HOLIDAY | Shu Uemura x La Maison du Chocolat Collection

Though the Super Mario collaboration is still my favourite Shu Uemura collection, La Maison du Chocolat checks in at a pretty close second because their chocolates are SO DAMN GOOD! I am lactose-intolerant and I will eat like 10 of them without a care in the world and they don't even make me feel sick! This year's holiday collection is incredibly on point with the season of MANY chocolates (probably 200 Lindt balls and counting) and as someone who considers chocolate a food group, applying my eyeshadow from a chocolate bar palette and wearing a lipstick that smells like chocolate gets me excited to just EAT MORE CHOCOLATE!

MAKEUP LOOK | SHU UEMURA MURAKAMI COSMIC BLOSSOM EYE & CHEEK PALETTE IN COSMIKawaii WITH SWATCHES

I did this look way back in November and I wasn't too happy with it. I had just gotten both my hair done and eyebrows microbladed and things were just super dramatic. I wasn't sure which colours went well with my darker hair and as it turned out, the Cosmicool palette was a MUCH better fit for me which is why that look went up instead! Looking through these photos the other day, I realized that the Murakami Cosmic Blossom Eye and Cheek Cosmikawaii Palette ($85.00 CDN) is such a pretty little peach in a basket that it would be a shame not to share some swatches at least!

I wore this look to work. That's how Cosmi-"cool" I felt about it! Shu Uemura's eyeshadow palettes are usually the ones that give me grabby hands and the Murakami Cosmic Blossom Eye & Cheek Palettes*($85 CDN each) are definitely grabby! You will not be able to keep your paws off them!

MAKEUP | Shu Uemura Murakami Holiday Collection Rouge Unlimited Review and Swatches

There honestly hasn't been a Shu Uemura collection I haven't liked, but it seems like each year, it just gets cuter and cuter. I love all things Japanese (anyone else listen to Kinki Kids, Speed and Glay in the 90s?), but Shu Uemura always manages to balance the "kawaii" so perfectly with luxury. This holiday season Shu Uemura has partnered with celebrated contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and his iconic Flowers. The inspiration for this collection comes from the wonderment of the night sky during the holiday season and how the cosmos would exist in daily life. This collection may look like a trippy set of hippie flowers, but there is actual philosophical depth! Shu Uemura turns the stars of the galaxy into blooming flowers of hope in celebration of cosmic beauty.

MAKEUP LOOK | Shu Uemura Maison Kitsune ft. The Beauty Remix Smokey Eye & Cheek Palette #Plum Review & Swatches

The holiday season had SO MANY amazing and wonderful limited edition releases that it was hard to keep up. My day job had me working some very long hours and as much as I love my corner of the internet, I do have my priorities. Though I'm sure we could chat at length about work-life balance, today's conversation is all about yet another droolworthy collection from Shu Uemura! Thankfully, there is still quite a selection of the Maison Kitsune collection available online so if there is anything here that catches your eye, you can still grab it!
