Shu Uemura was kind enough to provide part of this delicious collection for me to play with and all I can say is that it was nice to enjoy a chocolate treat without any of it going to my hips!
Let's start with my favourite part of any makeup collection - the eyeshadow palettes! The Ganache and Praline Eyeshadow Palettes come in the berry-toned Framboise Berry* and the brown-toned Dark Cacao* with each palette having a slightly sweet scent. The placement of the eyeshadows is just like how La Maison du Chocolat chocolates are displayed in their gift boxes and all swatched well like any of the other Shu shadows I have tried.
Each palette contains 3 matte and 5 shimmery eyeshadows with all of the shades being soft to the touch, easy to blend and with little fallout. Two of the shimmery shades A7 and B7 (second from right, bottom row on each palette) seemed more like topper shades as the shimmer was not concentrated and had a more fine dispersion.
Ah, no collection is complete without the cult classic eyelash curler! This year's Chocolate Topped Premium Curler* is a dark brown with a little chocolate charm. Cute, right?
It isn't the holidays unless there is glitter in SOME form so say hello to the Shimmery Powders in Luster Gold Dust* and Luster Rose Dust* which are a larger, more coarse glitter and yet lighter than glitter I am used to seeing. This glitter is a bit more gritty and is better off patted then swiped to get the full effect. Due to the size of the glitter, I would rather use it on my body or as an eyeshadow topper because I found it a bit unwieldy to use as highlighter.
When it comes to things I lust after, right after Shu's eyeshadows are the lip products. Whether it's a gloss, balm, tint or lipstick, I cannot get enough and have an extremely hard time parting with them because of packaging and limited edition FOMOness.
In total there are four Rouge Unlimited shades which comes in a satin finish. I was sent Hazelnut Ganache* which is a brownish red shade. While I like the Rouge Unlimited collection, once I started embracing the matte lip, I really started loving the Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte collection for the smooth and long-wearing finish. This limited edition collection has six shades of which I was sent Deep Cranberry*, a bright red, and Ripe Cherry*, a brownish red. Out of the three, my favourite shade was Deep Cranberry as I find browns so hard to pull off and keep "neat" on my lips. To see swatches of the other shades not featured, check out The Beauty Look Book.
Now, I wasn't the most artistic when it came to this look and I am still not sure if cranberry shades look all that good on me, but hey it was something new to try and I was already wearing red so I decided to match!
