Ipsy | September “Classic Beauty” Edition

September’s edition of Ipsy looked like it was intended to guide us into the Fall season, but I found most of the products to be a little…boring? With the exception of the Butter London nail polish, I wasn’t too excited by September’s Ipsy bag which is probably demonstrated by my very tardy post!

Elizabeth Mott | It’s so Big Volumizing Mascara

DSC_0317

An ipsy exclusive launch! This mascara was created using a unique formula that delivers BIG volume and lengthens and curls your lashes without smudging! The hourglass brush ensures that you get the right amount of mascara applied to each lash. Use the It's So Big Volumizing Mascara with the Lash Card and watch your lashes grow bigger with each layer!

Thoughts: Ever since getting eyelash extensions, I really dread seeing mascaras as I cannot use them anymore! I think I might get rid of my extensions at the end of the year, but for now mascara is completely useless for me…

Thoughts: This is a wonderfully pigmented red lip balm that is a wonderful colour for Fall and for the upcoming Winter season. This packaging reminds me of the Annabelle Smudgepots that I remember waiting to try in my Glymm box back in 2011!

Thoughts: Droooooool! Who wouldn’t want to see this in their Ipsy bag? I’ve never seen a Butter London mini before and boy are they ever cute! La Moss is a beautiful vampy red polish that I’m sure I already have in some form, but in a cute little bottle like this, I think not!

The NYX Single Eyeshadow packs a punch of color and is incredibly easy to blend. Go edgy or understated effortlessly, and enjoy the luscious, long-wearing color from sunrise to sunset...and beyond!

Thoughts: This is not a colour I’d wear enough to hang out to it, so sadly, I will be passing this along to someone else to enjoy, but I have used NYX eyeshadows before and the pigmentation and texture are amazing!

The Starlooks Obsidian Kohl Eye Pencil glide across delicate lids without pulling. Try using this creamy liner to create a smoky eye or use it as a base for eyeshadows on your entire lid. Available in 11 stunning and super saturated shades!

Thoughts: I like the softness of kohl liners so I did enjoy receiving this product despite it not being something novel in my makeup collection.

Final Value of September Ipsy Bag: $55.26

Obviously my favourite product in this Ipsy bag was the mini Butter London polish! Everything else was just okay…the mascara I can’t currently use, the eye shadow isn’t the right colour for me and although the eyeliner is something I could use, it’s nothing I don’t already own. Overall, the value of the bag was still quite good and this doesn’t affect my opinion of Ipsy whatsoever because the good always outweighs the bad!
