September was a bit of a blur when it came to products for me. I didn’t really have my “empties game face” on when it came to getting through product. I’ve been scared to mix up my skincare too much because the last thing I need is to have some sort of reaction on my face on the day of my wedding so I have been playing it EXTREMELY safe. I may as well be using baby products at this point!
1. AG Hair Cosmetics Thikk Wash Volumizing Shampoo (1L)
It has taken about 2.5 years to finish this bottle, but it’s a shampoo that I always go back to after experimenting with different ones. It smells like creamsicle and helps to give me a but more volume in my hair whenever it feels like it’s just hanging in my face. I generally have had good experiences with almost all AG products that I have tried and see myself continuing to buy them.
2. Burt’s Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion (25g)
I received this in January’s Glossybox and had commented that I liked it, but after continued use, I found the consistency a little bit sticky. It was light, but it left my skin with a bit of a residue that I hadn’t noticed before when I had received it just as one use packets. The smells eventually got to me as well.
3. Origins Smoothing Ginger Body Scrub (200mL)
This was a June favourite product of mine so I won’t go into much detail about it, but it’s awesome. I never liked ginger growing up, but maybe it’s a combination of getting older and developing more mature olfactory tastes, but there is just the right amount of scrub and hydration in this body scrub that I think everyone should try it. It’s wonderful!
4. Zoya Remove+ Polish Remover (237mL)
This was a May favourite product and I am still loving it! I have ordered the giant 32 oz bottle to refill this pump bottle. It’s great because it doesn’t smear around the polish like some other nail polish removers. I’ve been using the Joe Fresh nail polish remover which actually works in a very similar way and is even the same colour, but doesn’t smell quite as nice. It’s a lot cheaper though, but soon I will have both in my house to compare!
5. Lush Oatifix Fresh Face Mask (60g)
The scent alone sold me as it smelled like banana bread! When I said I was sticking to soothing things, this mask was one of them. So incredibly soothing was this mask that I might even use it the week of the wedding just out of caution. Oats soothe the skin and take care of redness and irritation.
6. Kaia Juicy Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths (30 cloths)
I have to thank Glymm for this product as these were the FIRST cleansing cloths I ever used and I’ve been sold ever since. I’ve used other brands, but I love that there is isn’t much of a scent and that all the cloths are soaking in a pool of Vitamin E and B5 (anti-aging and healing). The only thing is that the cloths are kind of small. It’s not like I run out of space on the cloth, but I pretty much use every bit of it! I guess that sort of adds to the eco-friendliness of the product.
7. & 8. The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Night/Day Cream (15mL)
I gave a full review of this product so I really won’t talk about it much more, but you can see how this little bottle lasted for so long! I ran out about mid September so if you’re on the fence about trying this line out, the travel pack really gives you quite a bit of product to make an informed decision. So, in a nutshell, I would definitely repurchase this and the cream!
9. klairs Rich Moist Soothing Sheet Mask (1 sheet)
This wasn’t a particularly memorable product for me. I think all face masks are soothing so what makes a mask memorable for me is the scent, the quality of the mask and how it makes my skin feel afterwards. This is supposed to be a non-irritating mask which may be why there was no scent. I use masks almost as an aromatherapy treatment, so scent is important to me. All the other criteria were fulfilled though so I wouldn’t say no to this mask again.
10. MaskerAide All Nighter Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask (1 sheet)
You all know I love these mainly because of the essential oils that MaskerAide always includes with their masks. I have way too many of these in my arsenal as is. It’s like I’m scared I will run out all the time!
11. Living Proof Prime Style Extender (10mL)
I don’t know if this really worked for me. I almost don’t understand how it’s supposed to work. I have a full size of this already, but I didn’t really notice a huge difference in my hair when I did use it so I guess we’ll see?
12. Dior Capture Totale (1.5mL)
I have now broken out twice using Dior skin care products so I’m not taking anymore risks. I think their skin care is just much too rich for my skin.
13. Julep One Step Polish Remover Pad (1 pad)
I really like these now and whenever I see them as a bonus or on sale, I always get as many as I can. I only use them for creme finish polishes as they only last about 3 nails when used with glitter polish.
14. Fortune Cookie Soap Company Soap (1 piece)
I love FCS soaps! They are always in such fun colours and scents! I have the Fall box to share with you soon!
15. Skinfood Quinoa Rich Body Wash (10mL)
I didn’t know WHAT quinoa was supposed to smell like, but when I finally opened up this packet, it was so perfume-like and strong that I was immediately turned off.
And there you have another month of empties!
