A few weeks back, I posted on Instagram that something was abrewing with the new OPI Color Paints* collection comprising of OPIs first blendable nail lacquer. The challenge was to create a tutorial using the collection using the sheer, jelly-esque properties of the polishes. I have always wanted to do a distressed nail art look ever since the “graffiti nail art” trend of last year and these polishes were perfect. Since the colours are meant to be layered, swirled and mixed, I just went wild with my colour choices! Find out how to create this look after the jump!
If you love to create and be imaginative, these Color Paints are pretty awesome. They are similar in idea to the OPI Sheer Tints, but much more pigmented. While, I probably won’t be wearing these completely alone, their translucence is mesmerizing. These polishes would also work over any white polish to create watercolour nails! My favourite shades were Turquoise Esthetic and oddly enough Primarily Yellow because it brightened up the whole manicure once I added it! Silver Canvas was a little streaky on its own, but since it is used as a base or “canvas” for your artwork, it was not something that mattered to me much in the end. When it comes to unleashing your inner artist, Color Paints has got you covered!
