I'm a little annoyed with myself at time of writing this as I have just discovered an additional three shades of the Dior Rouge Dior Couture Colour Lipsticks ($43.00 CDN) in my office. It obviously goes to show you how unorganized I was and that I need some sort of intervention. I even have a list on my phone of things that I "need to locate". Thankfully, these Rouge Dior lippies were not limited edition and were repackaged and reformulated to include a matte finish and an updated satin formula.
Released in Fall 2016, packaging is near identical to the previous versions of Rouge Dior with the main difference being a red underside to the lipstick cap. There are 50 shades to choose from with finishes ranging from satin to matte which sounds utterly overwhelming, but hopefully this post can help narrow down your must-haves because everyone needs at least one of each finish!
Premiere* is one of those classically neutral pinks that make everyone look sweet as pie. It has an ever so slight pearlescent finish and though I thought I initially thought it would be too pink it actually ended up looking quite pretty once the colour adjusted to my lips.

Red Smile* makes me feel like Snow White because my skin looks so bright! This is a gorgeous colour and swatches like an orange-red. I find this shade so striking and can envision many skin tones working this colour!

This is Pretty Matte*, but I am aware that it actually looks quite creamy. This is the kind of pink that I am always a bit scared of because I have no clue how it's going to end up looking with my Asian skin tone, but again either it warmed up to me or vice versa because I ended up loving it. Even though it was matte, it had a smooth glide with that pillowy feel when I smacked my lips together that some matte finishes tend to have. Nevertheless, the colour lasted on my lips long enough for me to have to remove it with my Aritaum Lip and Eye Makeup Remover.

Superstitious Matte* was the first shade I had to try because well, look at it! It's a bright fuchsia purple that is stunning, but did have its challenges when it came to application. It was difficult to get the colour to apply evenly and just when I thought I had the colour right, it migrated on me. I honestly don't know how I would feel wearing this in public as I would be paranoid about the colour moving on me. I even tried blotting, putting powder down and reapplying, but no dice.

Final verdict: Even within these four shades, there was a bit of variation in application and consistency. I don't think there will be much to complain about when it comes to the satin finishes, but I would at least swatch the mattes as the two I had were quite different from each other.
