Every summer, I always look forward to the Clarins release of their limited edition "big" bronzer in addition to a couple of other products that I know I can easily phase into my existing makeup routine to make it truly feel like summer. I am already starting to see Fall items and it makes me a little sad to think that this beautiful weather is only in my grasp for another two months at most. I swear, we wait all year for summer only to fast forward to Fall and the holidays! I can see why people live half the year in Arizona just to keep that summer feeling going!
There are three limited edition pieces in this year's Sunkissed collection which, if you are a die hard Clarins fan, you will have to have!
There is always something for the eyes and while last year's collection had the Waterproof Creme Eyeshadows that I LOVED, this year's is a limited edition 4 Colour Eyeshadow Palette* ($45 CDN) made of 100% mineral and plant pigments. While the three neutral shades are classically Clarins, the burst of orange is really what makes me want to hang on to this palette!
While I could take or leave the first two shades, as I found them so light that they did not make a difference on my eyes and it was the last two shades that said "here comes summer, baby" to me. They swatched beautifully and with ease while the first two took a bit more coaxing to see decent pigmentation.
I realize now that I have three full-size Clarins bronzers, each with an embossing that makes me want to collect them all like Pokemon. This year's Bronzing and Blush Compact* ($42 CDN) is composed of three harmonious matte shades with a slightly shimmery orange blush to warm up the cheeks should you decide to use this as a blush.
There are two new summer-appropriate shades of Waterproof Eye Pencil* ($27 CDN) in Copper and Gold which I like using along my waterline in the summer when I feel like black might be too harsh. Summer makeup is all about looking glowy and these smooth gliding pencils will do the trick. There is a rubber smudger on the other side, but to be honest, I rarely use it since I hardly ever smoke out shimmery shades like this. Or maybe I should be?
I have been finding it hard to look bronzed and glowy with my darker hair and it is times likes these when being blonde makes a bronzed look completely effortless, but I did what I could and followed the instructions that Clarins provided inside the eyeshadow palette for a more dramatic eye look. I also decided to christen some KISS Ever EZ Lashes because I loved how they had a multi-layer effect and also decided to dive into the newest additions to the Clarins Lip Oils (I will talk about those next week) for this look since a glossy lip made me feel more summery!

Clarins Bronzing and Blush Compact*
Eyes:
Apply Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base* all over the lid and under eye.
Apply shade 1 of the Sunkissed 4 Colour Eyeshadow Palette* on the first third of lid.
Apply shade 2 on the inner corner of the eyes and just underneath the first third of the brow bone.
Apply shade 3 underneath the rest of the brow bone and blend along the eyebrow arch.
Apply shade 4 to rest of eyelid and blend with shade 3. Line lower lash line with shade 4.
Line lower water line with Clarins Waterproof Eye Pencil in Gold*.
Line upper lash line with Lise Watier Liquid Eyeliner.
Apply any mascara. I used the Clarins Mascara in Aquatic Green*.
Apply your favourite lashes. I went pretty dramatic with the KISS Ever EZ Lashes in KPLS01*.
