HAIR | GIVEAWAY with The Matrix Summer SOS Kit #GetMessedUp

Oooh, I have some good stuff to talk about today! I have had quite a bit of fun with Matrix in the past being blonde and lavender with the Colour Lounge App (here) and now it's time get down and dirty with the Matrix Mineral line of styling products. Each of these products provides a varying level of texture taking you from beach bum to a night out with just a few pumps and a quick tousle!

The Matrix Mineral Airy Builder* is a lightweight dry texture foam that can be applied to either damp or dry hair for medium styling hold. I have a hard time getting used to foams, but this one smelled so nice that I got over my "fear of the foam" and gave it a go. I would say that it is certainly lighter than trying to "set" my hair with hairspray after styling, but while I normally curl my hair, I often struggle with maintaining volume at the roots. Using this on towel-dried hair from root to tip has given my hair enough texture to make it look slightly lifted.

The Matrix Mineral Play Back Dry Shampoo* is a lightweight, refreshing spray dry shampoo which sprays out clear. Like all dry shampoos, its job is to absorb oil and give day old hair a second or even third chance at life without caking up your scalp. This has the same scent as the Airy Builder, but for some reason I found it super strong in the dry shampoo. I guess it's the aerosol aspect that gives the floral fragrance an extra kick.

The Matrix Mineral Grip Definer* is something that I have been letting my husband try out as he usually needs a light level of texture to style his short hair. It can't be too thick or else his hair looks flat so this has been just right. We took it with us to Vegas in a little 100mL jar and even I dipped into it as I forgot to bring styling cream for blow-drying my hair. I much prefer sprays for texturizing my hair as it is so long that I need a product that covers more ground without weighing it down, but this did the trick when I needed it to.

I have saved the best for last as the Matrix Mineral Rough Me Up Salt Infused Spray* is what I use for ULTIMATE volume. In addition to getting those perfectly beachy waves that you see on those "wanderlust" travel Instagram accounts, this is really great at giving hair some massive volume at the roots. A blow out is really what gives you volume so what I do on day old hair is spray my roots and then blow dry while flipping my hair in the OPPOSITE direction. It honestly takes just one minute to be ready! The salt provides a clean-feeling texture while the water base lets you "start over" by giving you enough moisture for a fresh blow-out.
