I had yet to do a traditional orange and black Halloween manicure and when I stumbled across this one by Rina Alcantara with black kitties! I instantly thought of my little Hemingway when I saw this manicure and in honor of black kitties everywhere, I thought I would dedicate this one to him and to advocate adopting your furbabies from a shelter because there are just SO MANY cats who need forever homes and I am fortunate to have Hugo and Hemi in my life.
For this manicure, I decided to use Picture Polish Autumn because it was a) awesome and b) something a bit different than your standard orange cream polish. I mean, it is just a holographic stunner!
Next, I hand drew the kitties with black acrylic paint, dotted on their eyes with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in White* and then their noses with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Carnation Pink*. While this was all drying, I dotted on some random polka dots in Sally Hansen CSM in Hooked on Onyx*.
Finally, I used acrylic paint to draw little black lines on the white to finally give these guys some sight! I sealed everything in with top coat and was so happy with how cute this turned out! Hemingway is a lot chubbier than the kitties on my nails, but I think he would be pleased as well!
Who else loves black cats? Having only had one first the first time in my life now, I have to say that after chatting with various black cat owners, they all seem to have very "special" personalities!
