How long have all of us in Canada been waiting for IT Cosmetics to finally make an appearance?! We all knew the IT Cosmetics CC Cream* was amazing after hearing people from all over the US rave about it and from repeatedly watching The Shopping Channel blockbuster spotlight (*arrow points to me*). Now, this beloved CC Cream and the rest of its family are available exclusively to Sephora as well as online at IT Cosmetics!
I first bought this CC Cream from The Shopping Channel last year in conjunction with the CC Eye Cream for an incredible promotional price. When it finally arrived, I tried it and was confused. Yes it was lightweight, had great coverage, but I found my face super sticky to the touch and worse yet, it was breaking down at the 4 hour mark. The redness on my cheeks that was absent upon initial application was peeking through and I found this supposedly holy grail product a bit of a disappointment and I put it away after a few tries.
It wasn't until this past summer at an IT Cosmetics media event for the official Canadian launch that I figured out what I was doing wrong, but first a bit of background on IT Cosmetics if you are wondering about the hype. Created by former journalist Jamie Kern Lima, IT Cosmetics is a brand with products developed with plastic surgeons with skincare goals being the priority. Many of the products contain ingredients targeted for anti-aging and hydration while rivaling the formulas of high end colour cosmetics. Even when you pump out the product, it actually smells a little citrusey and almost herbal like skincare products which brought me a great sense of comfort.
This CC Cream is supposedly best applied with a brush, but I prefer a Beauty Blender. I need 1-2 pumps to cover my whole face and I find that even my dark circles are pretty much neutralized once I have this on. It's only on those particularly rough mornings that I need to break out concealer. Along with being a hydrating serum/foundation formula, this CC Cream also has SPF 50 which is probably why it took a bit of time to get to Canada as SPF products require a DIN. Higher SPFs can feel heavy in some products, but you can't even tell with this!
I bought the shade "Medium" while I was sent the shade "Light". Both seem to work as they blend out well though Medium was my tanned shade that still seems to work even now.

Final verdict: I'm sorry I didn't give this more of a chance last year because now my tube of "Medium" "runneth low" as I have been using this almost every day since the media preview in August. This CC Cream just feels like nothing on the skin and yet does so much while looking so completely natural! In the photo above, all I am wearing is the CC Cream and IT Cosmetics Vitality Flush Stain Stick Lip & Cheek Reviver in "Je Ne Sais Quoi". I have always preferred lightweight foundations which is why I started with BB creams and mineral makeup to begin with so if that's your MO, the IT Cosmetics CC Cream is one worth trying and with free shipping at $35 and 10% off using the code ITGIRLLIM until Oct.31st, why wait?
IT Cosmetics is available at Sephora and itcosmetics.ca
