Oooh, have I got a treat for you guys today! Earlier this year, I was given the opportunity to learn all about and meet Margaret de Heinrich de Omorovicza, one half of the founding duo of, Omorovicza. Based in Budapest, all products are made with the healing thermal waters from the family owned Omorovicza spas in Hungary. When Margaret was in Vancouver, she did a wonderful job of explaining the science of why Omorovicza's products work, but in such a luxurious way that I wasn't bored at all. Historically, the Hungarian thermal waters were found to have healing properties due to the mineral content of the waters themselves as the Earth's crust is slightly thinner in this area of the world, allowing more minerals into the water. Everyone at the table was just riveted with hearing the story of the brand and the love story that started it all that I cannot do it justice in just this one post! I adore sleeping masks because who doesn't want to go to bed and wake up to new, freshly revived skin? This step has been a part of the Asian skincare routine forever, but what I have never liked about most of the sleeping masks is the addition of dimethicone. If you look at the ingredients, even the often talked about Laneige Water Sleeping Mask only does what it does because of dimethicone. This is not the case with the Midnight Radiance Mask which in addition to using Omorovicza's patented Hydro Mineral Transference™ delivery system, contains salicylic acid as well as willow bark extract. Both are forms of beta hydroxy acid, a chemical exfoliant which acts to clean out the inside of the pore instead of on the surface which are what AHAs do.
Sounds like a mask that will dry your skin out right? That's what we grew up thinking salicylic acid did, but this mask is quite the opposite! I have only used this mask for about a week (thanks to FedEx mishaps...), but this is one the most effective, yet COMFORTABLE exfoliating masks I have ever used. You've got your chemical exfoliant, then you've got your kaolin and copper gluconate (that's why this mask has a light blue tinge) for sebum control and finally red algae and hyaluronic acid so your skin stays hydrated!

In terms of use, I cleanse and tone as usual and then very sparingly apply a thin layer of this gel-like mask to my skin. The first time I used it, I grabbed a lot, but that just left my skin feeling sticky so a little really DOES go a long way! I would have shown a "melfie", but as this mask dries clear it wasn't all that entertaining to show. As for overall "sticky factor", there is a very slight tackiness, but don't worry about getting stuck to your pillow! I am the first to complain about tackiness with two cats who sleep on my face or head so if I wake up with cat fur stuck to my masks I just can't...
Final verdict: When I washed off this mask this morning, I did not need a sponge or multiple splashes to remove it. It sort of just dissolves with the water and I noticed that there was something a little more clear about my complexion overall. The brightness in my skin tone was the first thing I noticed along with the redness in my cheeks being more faint. I also had forgotten that I had this mask on at all! It felt like I just had my regular moisturizer and serum on as my face wasn't tacky when I woke up. I will DEFINITELY continue to use this mask in my night time skincare routine 1-2x a week depending on how congested my skin feels.
