NAILS | Vampy Gradient Stripes

Yes, yes I know. I should be doing Halloween manicures now that we are halfway through the month and I promise you those are coming, but let's enjoy Fall for a little bit shall we? I have had this manicure sketched out in bullet journal since AUGUST, but as I can only manage two manicures a week this is the pace I seem to be at with work and all.

This is the first Fall collection I am diving into and it is the CND Vinylux Nightspell Collection which is very characteristically Fall with some shades and also has some chrome finishes which are trending this season. I am not a huge fan of chrome polishes because of the tendency for streakiness, but with certain shades I will make an exception!

For this gradient tape manicure, I started off with two coats of the foil finish CND Vinylux - Mercurial*, which is SO PRETTY. Once that was dry, I applied wider striping tape as my nails were a bit longer than I thought and applied a gradient of CND Vinylux - Lilac Eclipse*, Married to the Mauve* and Berry Boudoir* from cuticle to finger tip. I did one nail at a time so that I could easily pull off the striping tape to give the sections a smooth finish.

I should add that Married to Mauve isn't actually part of the Nightspell collection, but matches so well! It was one of my favourite shades because it seems to tie in Fall without being too vampy looking.

I added a coat of CND Weekly Top Coat* after waiting a solid 10 minutes for each section to dry because I would have been so devastated if I smeared everything!

The CND Nightspell Collection is available in Vinylux and Shellac formulations.
