SKINCARE | MaskerAide Sweet Retreat Mini Sheet Masks #100DaysofSheetMasks

Have I mentioned how much fun I have found skincare these last few months?! I have always loved sheet masks as they are such a huge part of Asian skincare, but never did I realize just how many different types and brands there were! My new (very lofty) beauty goal is to TRY THEM ALLLLL! I love amusing you all with my mask selfies as well as giving you the low down on what ingredients I find valuable, interesting and/or total garbage. There haven't been too many bad ones in the hundred or so sheet masks I have used this year and I hope to bring to the blog more masks that will bring your skin glow and your soul some laughter!

One of the brand partnerships I have truly had a fantastic time with is MaskerAide! Being asked to be one of their brand ambassadors could not have been more fitting for myself and my current content. How many brand ambassadors have you seen on social media who you know don't actually use the brand's products? I have long been a cheerleader for MaskerAide and would still be with or without the partnership so I hope many of you get a chance to try their masks for yourselves!

The final "FUN" mask in MaskerAide's four new releases is Sweet Retreat* and it is also a set of 12 mini masks just like Crystal Clear except this time, it's DESSERTS! These mini masks are drenched in essence and aim to smooth and moisturize the skin with coconut fruit, fig, basil and my favourite, gotu kola extract! There is even niacinamide which we all know is a great at brightening the skin as well!

How utterly cute are these designs?? I know it's a little gimmicky and skincare doesn't HAVE to be like this, but food doesn't have to be plated like art to sustain us and yet it is so let's enjoy our skincare in the same way!

I would rather use these masks on my face than on any other part of my body which is why hubby was enlisted to have desserts on HIS face too! The scent of the essence is vanilla cupcake (!) and was incredibly easy to peel off the sticker like mask sheet and apply to the skin. I kid you not when I say there was A LOT of essence in the pouch so just before I apply the mini masks, I take a scoop of essence and massage it all over my face. It also acts as a bit of a "glue" for the mini masks. The rest of the essence I use all over my body.

Mask Summary:

Scent: Vanilla cupcake
Duration: 10-15 minutes
Thickness: Fairly thin for a printed mask
Mask Fit: Not really applicable since these are so tiny!
Tackiness: Medium
Hydration: VERY hydrating (especially compared to Crystal Clear)

Final verdict: The tackiness level for these mini masks is on the higher side so be prepared to give yourself some time to let the the essence sink in before going to bed. It is very hydrating though so if you have stubborn dry patches that come with seasonal changes or just temperamental skin, these targeted mini masks are for you! My husband found them almost too rich for his cheeks which tend to be on the oily side, but great for his forehead so to each their own! I have already purchased more because with the drier season coming, I know I will have funny dry patches here and there that I will need to address!
