SKINCARE | MaskerAide Crystal Clear Mini Sheet Masks #100DaysofSheetMasks

Last month, MaskerAide debuted the brand new Fun Line which featured four new masks with new packaging and a totally different way to sheet mask! The first mask, Bubble Bubble Pop, I have already reviewed (here) and loved so I have literally been ITCHING to show you guys the other three masks because they are so goddamn cute! Some of you know that my day job involves pretty, sparkly gems so the new Crystal Clear Mini Sheet Masks* ($7.00 CDN) was the next mask I had to try!

The rage in sheet masking right now is to "mini-mask" and target specific areas of the skin. Some sheet masks just come with mini masks while others come with both the mini masks PLUS a sheet mask. Crystal Clear focuses on brightening and clarifying the skin so get ready to use your body as a sticker book and start peeling these masks from their sheet!

The hand-drawn aspect of each "crystal" is so cute and I don't know anyone who wouldn't be entertained by this!

Featured ingredients are: niacinamide (brightening, dark spots), pearl extract (brightening, even out skin tone) and hyaluronic acid and guess what? They are found in good concentrations right in the top half of the ingredients list and when I looked at where hyaluronic acid was, there are actually four different forms of it in the formulation which I think relates to the varying molecular sizes aka reaching different levels of the upper layer of the epidermis.

There are also anti-inflammatory ingredients like the Fraxinus plant which also has plenty of other biological and pharmacological purposes and basil leaf extract which is a skin conditioner.

The mask itself comes out folded in half and soaking in lavender-scented essence. The essence was actually quite thick and plump and there was tons left in the package. The mini masks peeled off so easily and if you only wanted to target certain areas, there are more than enough masks for TWO people! There was zero tugging or having to find an edge and in all honesty, the mask peel was also VERY satisfying both in sound and smoothness #ASMRAnyone?

There is quite a bit of extra essence so there was plenty to go around on my face, neck and decollete. You can put the masks anywhere, but obviously because these are "instagrammable" masks, face is probably the best as we want to keep things PG around here!

Mask Summary:

Scent: Lavender
Duration: 10-20 minutes
Thickness: Surprisingly thin for a printed mask!
Mask Fit: Not really applicable, but the crystal on my chin had a hard time curving.
Tackiness: Medium to high
Hydration: Good!

Final verdict: The essence was very thick and took hours to sink in which makes go ARGH a little, but my skin did feel super plumped up and perhaps a little brighter? I was definitely more GLOWY which my husband noted. I also liked the scent as I have never used a lavender-scented mask before and though the whole idea of crystals and aromatherapy aren't necessarily my style in real life, the fun factor and ingredients would make me buy it in multiples! I love skincare and having something fun like this to incorporate into my routine should be something that EVERYONE experiences!
