NAILS | Happy Year of the Pig! #CBBxManiMonday

I so wanted to have this little piggy nails ready two weeks ago for the Lunar New Year, but there was just a bit too much going on for me to have the energy to do anything more than paint with a brush. Now that we have a long weekend, I have the energy and while I was browsing Pinterest for inspiration, I came across this pin and I knew it was perfect for today's #CBBxManiMonday!

The pin had the pigs on a clear nail form, so I figured the best way to show off these little piggies was to paint on a white base of Prim + Proper Fresh Powder* and then go in with Essie Saved by the Belle* for the pig faces and bums. The ears and nose were done in hot pink acrylic paint and the eyes dotted on with black nail polish. The squiggly tails were hand-painted with brown acrylic paint and the word "OINK" in black acrylic paint. If you have ever tried to write or do finely curved lines, acrylic paint really is MUCH easier to work with!

Once everything was decently dry, I applied the Essie Gel Couture Top Coat for a gel-like shine and called it a night at 1am! Honestly, this is a huge reason I go to bed so late! There is always so much to do before I can sit down and actually paint which I am sure many of you can relate to!

Have a great day everyone and be sure to check out: Renee, Trysh and Eithne's blog and social media channels for their pink and red manicures!
