SHEET MASK | Food Story Collection: Pomegranate, Blueberry, Banana, Kiwi, Pineapple Masks

Focusing on trying as many sheet masks as possible from Korean beauty brand Soo'Ae this past September was a truly fun experience with one of the more fun collections being the Food Story Collection!

Coming in six different "flavours" for different skin concerns, these vegan sheet masks are biodegradeable and made with 95% natural ingredients. The pouch is also made partially with paper in an effort to reduce plastic usage. I have often wondered why sheet masks are not made with plastics #1,2,4,5 and I have a feeling it may have something to do with being able to preserve the freshness of the sheet mask or that making a "container" for the sheet mask would be cumbersome and too expensive.

Banana (Moisturizing)

This Banana mask has actual banana fibers containing banana extract woven into the sheet mask giving it a slightly yellow colour. It smells sweet, but thankfully not quite like banana as the scent is not one of my favourites. Even as a fruit, I only eat it occasionally because I know it's good for me, but I will never understand a fruit that has no juice! I find bananas so odd! Banana is very calming though so if you are looking for something that is both soothing and hydrating, this mask is for you!

Pineapple (Glow)

This mask is all about the glow which is mainly coming from niacinamide. I actually don't see any pineapple extract in the ingredients list as usually you would see Ananas Sativus or bromelain extract in the formulation so in terms of pineapple claims, I was a bit confused about where they would have been coming from.

Pomegranate (Renew)

I did not take photos for this pomegranate mask and the following kiwi mask as they were plain white like the pineapple mask. Pomegranate extract is quite well known in skincare for its antioxidant properties, but for some reason I don't tend to pick up skincare with it and I think it's it's because I find its scent somewhat boring. Not a good reason, I know, but if I'm left with a choice between pomegranate or orange/lemon, I will always go for the latter.

Kiwi (Toning)

This is another brightening mask with kiwi extract which is full of antioxidants, vitamin C and polyphenols. This mask is pretty easy to like as it's just a nice, quick refresher if you aren't looking for anything specific, but would like a quick pick me up.

Blueberry (Antioxidant)

This blueberry mask looks pretty graphic because it has actual blueberry extract woven into the fibers! I will admit that when I posted my mask selfie, a number of people thought I looked like I was sick or had an accident, but nope! We all know of the antioxidant goodness of blueberries and in skincare, it's one of my favourite ingredients.
