SHEET MASK | Dr. Jart All That Contours Hydrogel Expansion Stretch Mask

I think we are all breathing a bit of a sigh of relief now that Biden has been declared the 46th President of the United States. I am curious to see what Trump and his cronies do over the next couple of months until he needs to "hand over the keys" as the theories on how they could erode democracy are pretty scary. I will admit that even as a Canadian, I have been sleeping fitfully the last few days and this morning I woke up the same time as I would usually get up for work and just couldn't get back to bed as my mind started racing with things to do for the day. I ended up taking a bunch of photos for the blog and Instagram and then full down a YouTube rabbit hole of Barack Obama, Justin Trudeau, Joe Biden and John McCain speeches until lunch.

This is a two-part mask designed to tighten, lift and contour using aloe, collagen, caffeine with a cooling gel/fabric sheet and "no-drip essence" similar to the Amore Pacific Mask and Glamglow CoolSheet Mask

I saw some horrific reviews for the mask and I think it was mainly because people were expecting something different from this "sheet mask". A lot of people commented that the mask was dry, but this type of gel mask is intended to be liquid-free as everything is in the gel itself. Generally the mask fabric is very comfortable, but I've always found the V-line, ear loop masks to be painful and tight. I understand they almost need to be to see immediate results, but I always get headaches or jaw pain which makes me not want to use the mask again.

In addition to ear pain, I also felt like the mask was pushing my lips out so no, I wasn't trying to do a "duck face" here, it was the mask that made me!

Mask Summary:

Price: $7 CDN, but I think they were 50% off at Sephora back in Dec 2019 and being discontinued since I don't see this anymore.
Skin concerns: Elasticity, sagging.
Scent: None
Essence Type: None
Duration: 15-20 min
Thickness: Standard hydrogel/fabric like the Amorepacific Moisture Bound Mask and Skyn Iceland Eye Masks
Mask Fit: Obviously very well-fitted, but my ears felt sore and my lips were being pushed out.
Tackiness: NONE
Hydration: Surprisingly not bad!
Other notes: Cooling upon touch and definite tightening and lifting effect felt. I did have a visible V-line slimming effect!

Final verdict: I like Dr. Jart, but I can never get onboard with these V-line contouring masks because I find them uncomfortable and the results not longlasting. They say with repeated use, you can tone your jaw line, but I really don't think so. I love the gel/fabric type masks so that I thought was enjoyable and even though this mask was fairly hydrating, there are other Dr. Jart masks I would rather use.

I don't think you can find this mask anymore, but there are plenty out there that are similar!
