MAKEUP | Natasha Denona Chromium Liquid Eyeshadows in Scarab, Ultraviolet and Infra Nude

Today is a scary day in the US and though we are all going to be on the edge of our seats for probably the next couple of months, let's take it in stride, get through Christmas without COVID and take the remainder of 2020 day by day. I have to go through some clothing as Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver has just resumed clothing donations and I came across a few things during Lockdown in April that needed new homes so will get to that later today (I have vacation days today and tomorrow). While on vacation, I do this scary thing where I have time to check out what's new in beauty and then BUY IT! This is what happened with the Natasha Denona Chromium Eyeshadows back in August and I still can't stop raving about them!

This is an intensely pigmented liquid eyeshadow with a jelly texture and fresh, cooling sensation that dries down into an duochrome, colour-shifting beauty depending on the angle. I didn't believe they would truly be duochrome in real-life like nail polish, but they were! I normally wouldn't go for eye makeup that is quite this bold, but for mandatory masking reasons, I have been very focused on cool eye makeup because how else am I going to have fun with my makeup now?

When I picked my first Chromium shade, I was surprised at how small it was! At $37 CDN for 2.5mL of product, you bet I am going to make this last! I have a feeling it is going to dry up towards the end so I have been trying to use them as much as I can for work.

I watched as many application videos as I could before finally attempting these on my own eyes and the way I have been applying these is to use the doe foot applicator first to get the nice crisp edge up to the top of my eyelid and then get my inner corner with a pointed flat lip brush. I use each side of the applicator for each eyelid so you probably will not need to double dip.

These shadows set fairly quickly so you do need to work fast! I do one eye at a time and this method has worked out well! I always lay out a base of a neutral brown shade first and then smoke out my brow bone while leaving my eyelid blank in order to "receive the chromium".

This formula is longlasting with or without primer and does not crack or crease ALLLLLLL day! I was expecting it to crack or look a bit like shit really by the end of the day, but I have been so impressed with how well these hold up 10-12 hours after initial application! With the Sephora VIB sale, I have been SO tempted to get all five shades, but in trying to curb my spending I have forced myself to keep it to these three which I think work best with my colouring.

Final verdict:
Infra Nude is the one I use most for work as it's the most neutral of the trio I picked up, followed by Ultraviolet and then Scarab which I still haven't quite gotten up the nerve to wear at work, but is truly stunning! These shadows are pricey, but they are so unique to what I currently own and have used in the past that I cannot say anything other than "I love 'em!"
