Today's post is coming a little late in the day mainly because I have been sleeping for most of the day. Exciting, I know. I was catching up on some much needed sleep as the last week at work was reeeeally busy and was sleeping soundly until my cat jumped on my bladder and woke me up. I love how they always know EXACTLY where to start massaging their little paws! Regardless, I had trouble going back to bed and continued the rest of the day like a zombie until I finally had to crash for a nap at 4pm which brings me to now. Life as an adult is sometimes delightfully boring and that's totally ok by me!
Purchased by me
This sheet mask was actually my first time trying a Dr. Jart mask that wasn't made of rubber! Even though I have plenty of sheet masks from the brand, the rubber ones always seemed much more interesting than just a sheet, but I'm glad I finally tried one because it was very enjoyable! This cellulose mask moisturizes and conditions all skin types, but does focus on sensitive skin using a calming complex made with Aquaxyl, a patented blend of xylitylglucoside, anhydroxylitol and xylitol that acts as a "skin shield", and Quick Soothing Complex, a blend of aloe vera, bamboo leaf, pine, Thuja Orientalis (skin conditioning) and Japanese Cypress extracts. All of these ingredients are in the top half of the ingredients list.
While I do not have particularly sensitive skin, I did find this mask refreshing and I especially loved the scent because the essence smelled just like thyme! Thyme flower leaf oil is the last ingredient on the list, but I can really smell it! I love this herb so the scent of this mask was definitely a win for me. In skincare, thyme is used as an antimicrobial and can aid in the healing of damaged skin.
Mask Summary:
Price: $8
Skin concerns: Dryness, redness, sensitivity
Scent: Thyme! I love it!
Essence Type: Clear and viscous
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Thickness: Super thin
Mask Fit: Fitted, with a bit of excess around the temples and cheeks, but the sheet is stretchy
Tackiness: Medium, but tolerable
Hydration: Pretty good!
Other notes: N/A
Final verdict: This is an easy sheet mask to like and even though it is on the pricier side, the fit was really nice and I enjoyed every step of the sheet mask process. These masks are often in packs for the holidays at a great price so if you get the chance to try some sheet masks from Dr. Jart, the holidays is definitely the time to stock up!
You can find the Dr. Jart Dermask Water Jet Soothing Hydra Solution at Sephora and at various Asian retailers (I've seen them at T&T in Canada).
