SHEET MASK | Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Today's #SheetMaskSunday is extra special because one, Skin Republic is a new to me brand that I have been wanting to try for a few years and two, I even have an Instagram Reel showing how lovely these sheet masks are to apply! Made in South Korea, you have probably seen Skin Republic masks at your local drugstore, which I love as it can be a challenge to find good sheet masks available in-store in Canada that come in as large a range as these ones. Some of the Skin Republic sheet masks are even biodegradable (including the packaging!) with the goal to eventually have all of the masks be environmentally friendly!

I have a couple of masks to share with you, specifically four of the ones that always caught my eye when I went perusing through London Drugs as they focus on my top skin concerns.

Bubble Purifying and Charcoal*
Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

This is a bubble mask made from an absorbent biodegradable charcoal sheet and is one of those oxygenating face masks as bubble form when the essence is exposed oxygen. While these types of masks are intended to be clarifying and exfoliating, they are still relatively gentle in comparison to using an exfoliating scrub or chemical exfoliant. The bubbles are always fun to play with and look at and the fruit and plant extracts do leave my skin feeling fairly soft.

Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Mask Summary:

Price: $7 CDN

Skin concerns: Detoxifying, clarifying

Scent: Smells a little floral

Essence Type: Clear and bubbly!

Duration: 20 minutes.
Thickness: Thin/Medium

Mask Fit: Not the best fitting charcoal bubble mask I have used. The sheet fabric was a bit stiff (maybe because it is biodegradable?) and was a bit short on the forehead area and could have used some more slits around the chin and there were areas that would not lie flat.

Tackiness: None as this is a wash-off mask!

Hydration: My skin did not feel stripped of moisture when I rinsed off the bubbles, but you will need to continue your regular skincare routine after this.

Other notes: N/A

Hyaluronic Acid + Collagen*
Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Made with hydrolyzed collagen and hyaluronic acid, this is hydrating mask that doesn't leave the skin too tacky. The hyaluronic acid is found closer to the end of the ingredients list which is a little disappointing as the other masks' feature ingredients in the top half of the ingredients list, but generally this was still a pleasant formulation to use.

I know I usually include mask selfies, but for whatever reason I forgot to take a professional one so check out my mask application video on IG to see how they really fit!

Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Mask Summary:

Price: $6 CDN

Skin concerns: Fine lines, wrinkles, hydration

Scent: None

Essence Type: Clear, viscous

Duration: 30 minutes.
Thickness: Thin/Medium

Mask Fit: VERY good and smooth across the contours of the face

Tackiness: Light, but not sticky or uncomfortable.

Hydration: Good! I did not need to apply anything more!

Other notes: N/A

Brightening Vitamin C*
Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

This mask contains both ascorbic acid and ascorbyl glucoside all very early in the ingredients list which I found impressive! There is also coffee extract for vitamin E content and niacinamide for brightening so in terms of ingredients, this mask was one of my favourites. With just one use, I didn't notice that my skin was any brighter compared to the other masks, but with repeated use, I would like to believe so!

Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Mask Summary:

Price: $6 CDN

Skin concerns: Dullness, age spots, uneven skin tone

Scent: None

Essence Type: Clear, viscous

Duration: 30 minutes.
Thickness: Thin/Medium

Mask Fit: This one seemed a bit drier than the others I tried with the mask not feeling quite as "soaked" in essence.

Tackiness: Light, but not sticky or uncomfortable.

Hydration: Fairly good, but the area around eyes was dry so I did apply eye cream. Skin felt super smooth and soft.

Other notes: Brightness levels on skin about the same as other two masks.

Collagen Serum*
Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Right at the top of the ingredients list is hydrolyzed collagen so I know this biodegradable mask means business! This was the nicest to apply out of the group as I found the mask to be well-soaked in essence and also had a pleasant cotton-like scent.

Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Mask Summary:

Price: $6 CDN

Skin concerns: dryness, sagging, lack of firmness

Scent: Kind of like cotton.

Essence Type: Clear, viscous

Duration: 30 minutes. I did it for longer because the sheet itself felt super moist so I knew it could go on for a little longer and I was right!

Thickness: Thin

Mask Fit: VERY good and smooth across the contours of the face

Tackiness: Light, but not sticky or uncomfortable.

Hydration: Good! I did not need to apply anything more!

Other notes: N/A

Skin Republic Purifying, Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening and Collagen Masks

Final verdict: Overall, I enjoyed using all four masks with the Brightening and Collagen masks being my favourites because of ingredients and mask application experience. The directions do say that for best results, a mask should be used twice a week for the first month and then as required after 4 weeks to account for the skin's regeneration period. The Skin Republic website does do bundles of 10 masks that save you 30% so that could be something to look into after I've made more of a dent in my sheet mask collection!
