SKINCARE | Neo Naturelle C-Major 23% Vitamin C Serum, Silky Skin Natural Sugar Scrub and Aqua Harmony Moisture Infusion Complex

Science and nature are my two most favourite combinations when it comes to skincare and when a brand introduces their products by saying that not everything "natural" or "organic" is safe just because it is plant-derived or that just because an ingredient is manufactured it is toxic, I pay attention! Vancouver-based, family-owned, Neo Naturelle harnesses the power of science and lab-made ingredients to deliver maximum results from botanically-derived ingredients. Each ingredient in every one of Neo Naturelle's products has a reason for being along with a user experience that smells and feels luxurious from beginning to end!

I selected two serums and an exfoliator to try as these are my favourite parts of a skincare routine. I always use a Vitamin C serum in the mornings so I had to try Neo Naturelle's award-winning 23% Vitamin C Serum which I now can probably dedicate a whole blog post to because it is WELL-deserving of its accolades!

Neo Naturelle Review

C-Major 23% Vitamin C Serum*
Neo Naturelle C-Major 23% Vitamin C Serum

What makes this serum interesting is that it is waterless! This means that the Vit C can remain stable and active for a longer time. As we have all come to realize, Vit C comes in a variety of forms with C-Major using tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THDA) which is a stable, oil-soluble form of Vit C that has been shown to have incredible skin-penetration abilities with in-vitro data showing that it actually converts to ascorbic acid in the skin (Incidecoder, January 2022)! This form of Vit C also seems to provide antioxidant protection from UVA/UVB rays, increases collagen synthesis and brightens the skin. While this form of Vit C is newer, so less research is available, so far it is showing as highly promising!

The high concentration of vitamin C initially scared me at first as my skin tends to get irritated with higher vitamin C intensities, but THDA is super gentle! I did not have ANY redness or need to reduce my usage in any way so I was able to use it every single morning with no issues! Oh, and it also has a citrus scent which I liked as a bit of a "perk me up" in the mornings!

I was expecting the consistency to be more, well "serum-like", but as this is waterless it actually is more like a quick-absorbing dry oil. It is very spreadable so I have found that I only need 2-3 drops at most for my face and neck. I have been using for almost three months now and my bottle still looks full! If you are concerned about how an oil will behave underneath your moisturizer or makeup, don't you worry AT ALL about this serum! It absorbs so nicely and gives my skin such a nice texture that everything on top just seems to GLOW! In terms of results after all these weeks, I will definitely continue to use this serum in the future!

Silky Skin All Natural Sugar Scrub*
Neo Naturelle Silky Skin Natural Sugar Scrub

Calling this just a "sugar scrub" is really doing this product a disservice because it MUCH more than that! This is another product with a surprising consistency as this is a scrub that is really an oil-in-gel that creates a gel infused with sugar crystals that then turns MILKY on contact with water and rinses clean away! What you essentially have is an exfoliator that behaves like an oil cleanser, but also hydrates because of all the oils inside. The layers of multi-functionalism in this one product blew my mind! It also has a glorious spicy, Christmas-like scent which I was not expecting! My most preferred use of this product though, is to use it as a "cleansing mask" while I am in the tub.

Ingredients: Sucrose, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, glycerin (and) aqua (and) sucrose laurate, linum usitatissmum (flax) seed oil, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ oil, cannabis sativa seed oil, tocopherol, hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) oil, crambe abyssinica (abyssinian) seed oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, pelargonium graveolens flower oil, juniperus communis (juniper) wood oil

Aqua Harmony Enhanced Moisture Complex*
Neo Naturelle Aqua Harmony Moisture Complex

This is a gentle, hydrating serum with a 72 hour moisture complex that also contains niacinamide, glucosamine and hyaluronic acid to brighten and replenish skin moisture levels. With long term use, studies have shown that using both niacinamide and glucosamine can lead to a natural increase in hyaluronic acid as glucosamine serves as a substrate for the biosynthesis of hyaluronic acid (Bisset, January 2022). This serum also contains sea kelp which I enjoy in sheet masks as it is an ingredient that hydrates and firms the skin without leaving a heavy residue.

This was a SUPER easy serum to add into my routine and is suitable for even sensitive skin types. It is lightweight and can be layered with other serums including the above Vitamin C serum without any issues with pilling. My husband has had some dry ears so he also stole a few drops of this milky goodness to help with the flaking he has been experiencing. I found that it also soothed redness in my cheeks. It's like your everything serum!

Neo Naturelle Review

Final verdict: Knowing this is a family-run and owned Canadian company, I'm already sold, but then when you look at the ingredients and what you are getting for the pricing compared to what we are being "fed" in the commercial skincare mainstream market, Neo Naturelle is slaying it! The bottles are all glass in order to be kinder to the Earth and I feel like each ingredient was thoughtfully included and sourced with no room for fillers. With unique textures, ingredients and multi-step all in one products that even someone like myself, who LOVES 12 step routines, enjoys using, I totally recommend this brand and what I have tried! Though I started with these three products, Neo Naturelle has a beautiful looking moisturizer and retinol face oil that need to be part of my routine!
