This is a 100% plant-based shampoo and though going fully plant-based is not a dealbreaker for me, I am always curious to see how my very dry and colour-treated hair responds to haircare like this. This shampoo is vegan, biodegradable, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, silicone-free, safe for lakes and rivers and made with pure essential oils (there are shampoos made without essential oils for those with extra sensitive scalps).
Maison Jacynthe has six different shampoo collections for different hair needs/types with The Ayurvedic series being extra nourishing and an INCREDIBLE scent of cedar, frankincense, patchouli, myrrh, sandalwood, geranium roast, oak moss, jojoba, bergamot and cloves. This should be a candle! The shampoo also does a great job of cleaning my hair and scalp without over drying and has a very satisfying lather!
The only thing I did not like about about this conditioner was the fact that it was in a glass jar. I love a glass jar in terms of recycling, but in the shower I was TERRIFIED of dropping this with my wet hands and having glass shatter at my feet! Other than that, this was a wonderful product as the texture was just so creamy and thick!
Final verdict: Such a lovely haircare duo and I would hands down buy these on my own especially that conditioner. The scent alone is therapeutic and calming and I found that the texture of my hair was soft while still having volume at my roots. I have not needed to use a hair mask in the 4 weeks I have been using the Maison Jacynthe products as the conditioner was plenty hydrating! I am VERY pleased and will try to visit their boutique in Montreal once I feel more comfortable traveling again!
You can find Maison Jacynthe at www.maisonjacynthe.ca and in their boutiques in Quebec (that literally look like houses!)
