SHEET MASK | La Mer Treatment Lotion Hydrating Mask

If you haven't figured it out yet, I love my skincare and though I tend to stick with more clinical and/or what are categorized as "green beauty brands", I do occasionally wander over to the old school luxury skincare and beauty houses like La Prairie, Guerlain, Dior and La Mer. I tend to prefer a low fragrance in my skincare and many of these classic beauty houses love a strong floral in their formulations which is a bit of a deterrent for me. If I will most likely be spending a minimum of $200 for a single product, I really want to like it! La Mer is one of those brands where other than the foundation and a sample of their Creme de la Mer Moisturizing Creme, I have been hesitant to take the plunge to try more. Firstly, I have so much skincare at home that I haven't even tried yet, so buying more at a luxury price doesn't seem like the best thing to do, but mainly because I just haven't been intrigued about a product of theirs yet. Then I started researching and found a cult following for La Mer's Treatment Lotion which led me to the Treatment Lotion Hydrating Mask! This was my toe in the water before committing to possibly trying the full size product and I have to say, I am DEFINITELY interested in trying it now!

MAKEUP | Playing with Some New-to-Me Purple Products

I cannot believe that I haven't been at work for over a month now as I feel like the last 5 years of my life have been so devoted to my day job that I never thought in a million years I would suddenly have the time I have to play with makeup AND the universal okay to do so! I literally can do whatever I want whether it'd be nothing at all, to a few things or to cleaning the whole apartment from top to bottom. Like most of us, I had more steam at the beginning when staying at home was a newer concept mentally and the "world" was my oyster, but now I find that even though I'm still consistently posting on all Cosmetic Proof avenues, I'm getting hung up on the fact that x, y and z are still not done. For example, I wanted to finish my crazy book by the end of April and I still have 400 pages left (it's just over 1000) and I wanted to clean out my beauty room, but all that has happened with that is that I've made MORE of a mess because I am rediscovering things in there that I want to blog about or use. I've organized a few beauty areas, but with my husband working from home, it's hard to organize when he is taking calls in the same space.

BEAUTY | 5 Ridiculously Expensive Things I've Spent Money On

Ever since I made the decision to stay home for the sake of my asthmatic husband and take on the financial uncertainty of not having a paycheck and going on EI, more than ever have I stared at my beautiful and encompassing beauty hobby in the face numerous times over the last month and realized over and over again how much I have and how little I need. With the Sephora Spring Sale starting today and my single purchase of $40 (made with an unused Christmas gift card), I have to say I am pretty proud of myself, but then again the fear of not being able to pay for food or rent tends to outweigh wanting an eyeshadow palette. This new and pragmatic, bordering on pessimistic, view of money has made me go through some of my own personal beauty purchases that have been more luxurious and would never fall into the "need" category.
