MAKEUP | Playing with Some New-to-Me Purple Products

I cannot believe that I haven't been at work for over a month now as I feel like the last 5 years of my life have been so devoted to my day job that I never thought in a million years I would suddenly have the time I have to play with makeup AND the universal okay to do so! I literally can do whatever I want whether it'd be nothing at all, to a few things or to cleaning the whole apartment from top to bottom. Like most of us, I had more steam at the beginning when staying at home was a newer concept mentally and the "world" was my oyster, but now I find that even though I'm still consistently posting on all Cosmetic Proof avenues, I'm getting hung up on the fact that x, y and z are still not done. For example, I wanted to finish my crazy book by the end of April and I still have 400 pages left (it's just over 1000) and I wanted to clean out my beauty room, but all that has happened with that is that I've made MORE of a mess because I am rediscovering things in there that I want to blog about or use. I've organized a few beauty areas, but with my husband working from home, it's hard to organize when he is taking calls in the same space.

I am trying not to feel too sad about not having things done and taking advantage of this apparent freedom and I've found that just doing my makeup during the week has helped me feel a little more put together physically and mentally. While I was putting things away a few weeks ago, I saw a trio of Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows I had picked up just after Christmas on sale that had the PRETTIEST purple glitter in it and decided that I HAD to try a purple eye makeup look with it since I love the other shades of Glitter & Glow so much.

La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation

Although I had said in my "Ridiculously Expensive Beauty Items" post that I would not repurchase the La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation, that doesn't mean I don't think it's a good foundation so I used this as my base as I find it an easy foundation to wear from start to finish.

In addition to the Stila eyeshadow, I also wanted to finally wear this very purple-looking shade of the Marc Jacobs lipgloss that I picked up eons ago.

Eyeliners

FYI, that Shiseido ArchLiner Ink is something I feel terrible for not using until now because it was really cool to use with its arched tip that allowed me to do my eyeliner more easily as I could do the inner as easily as the outer lines. After years, eyeliner is still a coin toss for me as to whether it will look ok in the end and anything that makes this process easier is always welcomed!

I'm glad I got a chance to test out the Stila glitter at home because the quality was NOT THE SAME as its full-sized siblings. The trio I got were minis which I am hoping shouldn't affect the quality of the product, but I found the pigmentation to be lacking compared to what I have used before and the product lifted everytime I tried to add more with the wand which has never happened to me. The product was swatching normally, but after a couple of attempts I left it and hoped some of it would show up on camera.

This was also my first time using the Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts Eyeshadow Palette I picked up last year and it did not disappoint! I only used two of the shades, but quality was lovely! I think I might do a full review of it because I was really happy with it!

Purple Makeup Look

It's Tuesday and as I write this, I don't know if or when I will be able to go back to work safely this month and though I would love to have my financial worries alleviated, none of that matters if there aren't proper protocols in place for myself and others to be safe and not get sick. I won't lie that there have been times when I wish I had just forced myself to become a programmer and stick with a tech job, but who would have known something like this would happen? Tell me how you're feeling now that I've unleashed this inner monologue!
