NAILS | Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip Video with London Drugs!

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a few teasers that I was back in the studio shooting another YouTube video with London Drugs! If you haven't seem my first one, check out my Halloween collaboration here! This video is all about how to use the Red Carpet Manicure Color Dip system which you may have seen last year as these "nail polish powders" were sort of a new way of doing acrylic nails, but at home! The dipping aspect is pretty cool and I definitely got an easy 2 weeks of wear using this new system because the finish is so rock hard strong! There is a bit of a learning curve, but hopefully this video helps!

I hope everyone enjoys the tutorial because I was really nervous about this one since it was a little out of my element! I think it turned out alright in the end and I may even pick up more powder colours!

London Drugs is currently sold out of the Starter Kits online, but head on over to your local London Drugs and you should be able to find the kit there!

NAILS | Merry Christmas! #ManiMonday

It was really weird having Christmas Eve fall on a Sunday. Working in the retail industry, it was go go go this week and it honestly felt like Saturday should have been the end as I said my Merry Christmases to staff members who were scheduled off on the 24th. December 24th tends to be a busy one because we see the panicked faces of men who REALLY need to get a gift for their loved ones, but it tends to die right around 3pm when Christmas dinners start. This is what happened yesterday and by the end of the day, I was spent. When I woke up yesterday morning, I realized that I had nothing prepared for ManiMonday AND that I had Christmas dinner planned with my family that night. I had just picked up a Red Carpet Manicure One Step Gel Polish in the shade One Hit Wonder last week and realized that with just one step to worry about, I could do a FULL manicure on my coffee break at work!

NAILS | Let's Get Glittery for New Year's Eve with Red Carpet Manicure!

This is a sponsored post for Red Carpet Manicure and London Drugs.

I like to change up my nail polish a few times every week, but if I go on vacation or travel for work, I do not want to have to take time out to do my nails. Ever since the rise of DIY gel nail polish kits a few years ago, I have had the opportunity to try a few different systems and have consistently only featured one brand - Red Carpet Manicure. I am the first to admit that although I am comfortable with regular polish and the intricacies of the perfect manicure, there was something scary about a type of polish that needed special lights, preps, wipes and cures, BUT I am here to let all of you know that the Gel Polish Pro Kit* is by far one of the easiest and fastest kits to use and consistently delivers the shiniest and most durable manicures!

NAILS | It's All About the Chrome with Born Pretty Chameleon Mirror Nail Glitter Powders!

These mirror nails are all the rage right now in the nail world and though we have seen those countless videos of people magically rubbing powder on their nails to get a truly reflective finish, you really won't believe it until you try it for yourself! There are some incredibly expensive chrome powders ($16.90 USD for 2.5g) and then there are the ones from Born Pretty that are just $1.99 for 1g of powder! The main question being, "Are the cheaper powders any good/better?" Born Pretty has been pretty awesome for me over the years and I shop with them religiously even though I work with them as a blogger too. They just have too many things I want to buy all the time!

NAILS | Summer Sunset Gradient #ManiMonday

I really should do gradients more often because when you end up choosing the right colours, the result is a manicure that you cannot get enough of! I am more familiar with Red Carpet Manicure for their LED gel polishes, but recently they added good ol' regular polish to their collection! Yayyy, more polishes for me to love! This summer, RCM introduced some fun brights that will have you wanting to have summer all year round. As much as I love neons, I am not a fan of wearing them on their own, but in a gradient? Yes, please!

Though it looks like I have abandoned the bloggy while l have been away, I am staying in tonight after a great and crazy weekend at GenBeauty to make sure that I still have a Mani Monday post for you because I am ridiculously behind on everything else! I hope you have been following me on Snapchat and Instagram because there is a ridiculous amount of GenBeauty spam on those two channels as we speak! Since I knew I would be traveling and BUSY, I figured it was the perfect time to wear my favourite curable gel polishes because I wanted my nails to be absolutely flawless the week I was in Toronto. Red Carpet Manicure has a huge library of colours and there are some brights for the spring and summer season which I happily dove into!

NAILS – Red Carpet Manicure – A Matter of Prince-iple Gel Polish Swatch

As this post goes up, I will be out of town for work and lately when that does happen, it is the perfect time for me to wear gel polish. No fuss, no muss and I will have a perfect manicure for close to 2 weeks (except for that nail grow out). Last month I reviewed and wore a polish from Red Carpet Manicure’s Cinderella Collection (here) which I absolutely loved. Today is a much different polish and is probably one that I would not have chosen as a polish to wear alone as it is QUITE sheer, but still pretty. This is two cured coats of “A Matter of Prince-iple”* and is reminiscent of Cinderella’s glass slipper with its icy blue and gold shimmer. I actually used fairly thick coats, but this polish is meant to be magical in appearance like the fairytale it was inspired by.

The first VHS tape that I owned when we first came to Canada was Disney’s Cinderella, so this movie will always be so special to me. What is your favourite fairy tale?

Gel polish. I don’t often do gel polish manicures because I like to change my nail colour 2-3x per week, but when I will decide to do them is when I KNOW I won’t have the time to paint them. I knew that I would be traveling a fair bit this week and next for work so I knew I wanted a manicure that would leave me looking put together 24-7 even though my brain was far from it (I am a stressful flyer)! Cinderella-themed beauty collections have captured our hearts/wallets this season so when I saw the shades and names of Red Carpet Manicure’s limited edition Cinderella Collection, I was enchanted IMMEDIATELY. I have used RCM polishes before, most recently for Christmas (here) and can never get over the shine and longevity of the manicure.

Well, Aren’t We Lovely, is a hot pink creme that just makes me happy looking at it. It fits the spring/summer sunshine we’re experiencing here in Vancouver and I just love how rich the colour is. Yes, I know there are a ton of “regular” polishes out there that look like this, but there is something special about a gel polish…*gazes off into the distance*…

NAIL ART | Merry Christmas with Red Carpet Manicure Gel Polish in Ruby and Beyond the Nail Decals!

Merry Christmas everyone! Today is either a crazy or relaxing day for most of you so I will leave you with some Christmas cheer in the form of this oogle-licious gel polish from the Red Carpet Manicure Power of the Gem Collection, which is a birthstone-based collection. This is my very first time using RCM and because I don’t use gel nail polish a lot, I made sure to choose colours from the collection that I knew I would love. Ruby has actual ruby powder in its formulation and is meant to represent the month of July or the zodiac symbol Cancer (which is me!).

Red Carpet Manicure Ruby with Beyond the Nail Christmas Decals

A sparkly red polish is not complete this season without some Christmas flair from Beyond the Nail Holiday Collection. These decals are just the CUTEST and are incredibly resilient. Just make sure the snowflake tips are fully flat on the nail or they might get caught on things. I had to re-topcoat a day in to keep them intact. Like most gel polishes, I got 8 days of perfect wear out of this manicure with no chips and the same intense shine. Expect to see more of RCM on this blog in the new year!

Merry Christmas to everyone today!
