Mini Nail Mail!

This is just a fun little post about what arrived this morning! I had signed up for the Pretty and Polished waitlist and after much deliberation, decided on these five amazing polishes! “Jawbreaker” and “Party on my Yacht” have been on my list of lemmings for a few months and then I saw “Phoenix” and knew this matte orange and yellow glitter had to be mine!

Question: When it comes to swatches, would you rather see them on a hand or on a wheel? I, personally, love seeing a full manicure with the polish in question in order to get the full effect. I buy so much at once that I feel badly not being able to show everyone what these polishes look like right away! Sometimes I feel like I should just pick a collection and not allow myself to try on any other polish until I’ve swatched it all! What do you guys think?

  1. Eitherway is fine with me! I just want to see all. From the bottles they all look so gorgeous!

  2. All those colours look awesome! Hand may be better because we get to see what it looks like on a hand, as appose to some plastic :) x

    1. Yes, I prefer the hands as well, but I hate doing 5 or 6 colours in a row!

  3. I like seeing a full manicure (who doesn't?), but I am not at all disappointed to see swatches on a nail wheel-- it is easier on your nails that way and it allows us to see what the polish looks like out of the bottle!!

    1. I like the full manicure too and the acetone can really just dry your hands out so much! I like seeing the polish out of the bottle too, I really just need to stop buying and concentrate on what I have!

  4. These colors look so pretty! I personally like to see them in a full manicure to get an idea of how opaque they are, texture, if they're streaky, how many coats were used, etc. However, I'm not disappointed either to not see this and a color wheel still gives a clear demonstration of the color and whatnot.
I guess you could also swatch one polish per nail too, however that might be a little awkward to leave on.. hehe.

    1. Hehe, I guess I could do skittles nails! I like the full manicure too, it's just so hard for me to do so many at once! I admire those who do, but at the same time, what if I actually want to wear that color on my nails?! Like with my last post, I did Dodgy Barnett first and then Trustafarian. Now, I want to wear Dodgy Barnett again, but I only wore it for like 10 minutes!

  5. Either is fine with me, really. It's great when someone has the dedication to paint their nails with every polish they swatch, but I'm also happy enough with seeing the colours on a wheel. As ChrissyAi commented above me, one colour each nail might be a good compromise, and you could always call it skittles nails :P But it's fine to show one on your nails and the rest on the wheel, or even all of them on the wheel! :P I'm sure your readers aren't that picky!

    1. I like nails too, but I hate doing them all at once! I can do maybe 3 or 4 in a row, but then I want to be able to wear the colours too!

    1. Alright, I think most people prefer nails so everyone will just have to bear with me while I work through swatches!

  8. Nice haul! I'd say swatch them on a wheel and then when you wear them for a full manicure, make a blog post! Gotta conserve the polish ;)

  10. I like both since I know how hard it is to stay on top of nail swatches. I've had different colours on each hand before! Full manicures are nice to see how different shades work with diffrent skin tones, but I think wheels are good if it's a top coat or a layer-able shade.

    1. True, if the polish is super sheer then it's nice to show what it looks like on top of different colours. I do love the look of one hand painted in a solid colour though...

  11. Ooh how fun! Gah! I know what you mean! I like being able to show the polish as a full mani to get the full effect, but sometimes it feels like a waste for the mani if you take it off...When I'm lazy I swatch on a wheel or I'll swatch each one on a finger. For my Lime Crime swatches I actually wore each of those manis for a few days so it took a little while to actually make that post...
I know that how ever you decide to show these, I will love it! :)

    1. Yes, that's exactly it, I don't want to waste my mani! When I saw your Lime Crime swatches I was so impressed when I thought you did them all in one sitting! I would totally do what you did and just enjoy each colour for a few days instead of just getting rid of it right away.
