August Favourites

I feel like I have been subconsciously procrastinating when it comes to writing this post because it pretty much means the end of summer, doesn’t it? No more favourite sunscreens until next year (at least for those of us in this hemisphere!). I have just a few products that I have been enjoying over the last month that I am STILL having a hard time pulling away from!

1. L’Occitane | Cooling Hand Cream Gel with Organic Verbena Extract

It’s not secret that I love L’Occitane and that practically every hand cream they come out with MUST be mine! What was really nice about this one for summer is that because it’s a gel, it’s just that much lighter in feeling on your hands while still being able to moisturize them. The cooling sensation is also nice thanks to the alcohol in it, but does not dry out your skin.

2. Kiehl’s | Aromatic Mist in Nashi Blossom and Pink Grapefruit

This is my FIRST Kiehl’s purchase if you can believe it! This is a light and fruity fragrance that is rounded out with notes of soy milk and white musk. It is unlike any of the fruity scents that I own, but the only downside to this product is that the scent doesn’t last very long…2-3 hours is where it lasts for me before I need a spritz up.

3 & 4. The Body Shop | Nutriganics Smoothing Day & Night Cream

I have reviewed these products before and found them to be wonderful for my skin type which is dry, but not sensitive. I won’t bore everyone too much by talking about them again, but what I will say is that I loved how quick to absorb they were and how supple my skin felt after use.

5. Clarins | Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in “Shade 01”

I have three other shades of this product, but 01 has become my favourite as it is the most pink! This is a jelly-like gloss that really does make your lips look naturally full and plump as it provides a “your lips, but better” look. Although this is just a sample, I have a feeling I will need to get the full size once I run out!

6. Rimmel | Apocalips in “Celestial”

I was so excited when I saw a full display of these at London Drugs! I’m sure many of you have seen the swatches already as these have been out in the UK for months now, but these are super pigmented liquid lipsticks that glide on effortlessly. I can’t even call this a “lip gloss” because it is so opaque!

7. Make up For Ever | Aqua Rouge in #19

I have reviewed this product before and it is actually the one Aqua Rouge that I feel comfortable wearing in real life. It is a bright shade, but there is something about it that doesn’t seem overly flashy.

I have had to force myself to try some new items as I was quite attached to these ones. Are any of you finding it hard to let go of your summer favourites?
