This Fall, Mary Kay released a number of limited edition bath and body products that not only looked chic and cool to display in my shower and dresser, but was totally up my alley in terms of scent. The fragrances this season were inspired by the Phantomia Orchid which I can only assume is incredibly sophisticated and elegant. Yes, a flower can be all that!
The Cityscape Hair and Body Wash* ($22.00 CDN) definitely smells manly in terms of muskiness. I have never been a fan of 2 in 1 products like this, mainly because they tend to be a bit drying on my hair. Hubby likes the convenience though so he'll hang on to it. The Silkening Shower Gel* ($22.00 CDN) was very nice as it left an actual silky feeling to my skin, but without any silicones. I compared both of these products on two sides of my body and I could feel the difference!
I had assumed that the Silkening Dry Oil Mist* ($22.00 CDN) would be like the more moisturizing dry oils we have seen on the market, but in reality this is really more like a "skin touch-up". If you're headed out and you need to give your legs an amazing sheen THIS is your product. The scent is similar to the Cityscape EDP with sweet notes of bergamot and apricot.
I don't always feature Mary Kay fragrances because most run too sweet or floral for me, but not this mens and ladies duo! While my husband was playing video games one Saturday morning, I sprayed him with Cityscape for Him Cologne Spray* ($52.00 CDN) and he sat there, pondered for a bit and said it reminded him a lot of Hugo Boss. I really liked it on him and was tempted to spray myself with it. With top notes of Italian bergamot, pepper and French Lavender, how could anyone resist?! The Cityscape EDP* ($55.00 CDN) is of course very complimentary to the mens fragrance with top notes of bergamot, pink pepper, red currant, apricot and violet leaves. It is on the sweet side at the beginning, but dries down to a soft, non-powdery citrus scent.
The Cityscape collection is available until Nov.15th. Find it at www.marykay.ca or with your Mary Kay consultant.
