AT HOME | Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash and Geranium Leaf Body Scrub

Back in the Spring of this year, Aesop and Nordstrom had a fun little pop-up shop that I had the pleasure of visiting (here) as well as the opportunity to try out a couple of products. I also picked up a few things at the pop-up which I will also be sharing probably not until early next year since I still have some crazy skin research to do! Seeing as how it's Sunday and rainy here in Vancouver, I just want to take it easy before the surge of holiday energy REALLY begins. We just started playing our Christmas music at work (we kept changing the channel until this past Thursday) and holiday dinners are already getting planned. This week will already be December which is ridiculous! I can already feel the twitching of craziness in my brain which is why I try to include as much aromatherapy in my life from now until the end of the year.

Aesop is one of those brands that doesn't scream in your face, but for some reason their packaging, philosophy and attitude grab your attention. They seem like they have been around for the longest time, but they only started in Melbourne, Australia in 1987 and yet they have an incredibly loyal and growing client base! Aesop is a fusion of plant-based ingredients, science and research with an Old World apothecary feel. The packaging is straightforward, but still feels luxurious and the scents are an aromatherapy lover's dream!

The Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash* (500mL/$51.00 CDN) is a gel-like hand soap with a slight lather. It smells OH SO good with my nose being able to pick up on the lavender and mandarin orange peel oil. Even my husband likes it! It's not gooey like some hand soaps can be (you know when you see that string of soap going from the pump to your hand) and almost feels like I am washing my hands with a facial cleanser. The scent is subtly uplifting and the consistency non-drying. Yes, this is QUITE the indulgent hand soap, but 500mL IS quite a bit for a hand soap. This is going to forever be on my wishlist of things to buy from Aesop for myself or for others because tell me you wouldn't be excited to receive gourmet hand soap like this!

I LOVE gritty, dense body scrubs and this Geranium Leaf Body Scrub* (170mL/$47.00 CDN) is exactly that! Formulated with mandarin and bergamot fruit oils and exfoliating pumice and bamboo particles, this scrub is INTENSE. For those that have been to the Miraj Hammam Spa for a gommage, this is what it feels like! All those dry areas on your body will NOT exist once this scrub touches them! As much as I love the metal tube for packaging, I am a bit bummed that I probably won't be able to get ALL of the product out. I would normally cut a plastic tube, but metal just seems like that much more work.

Final verdict: Aesop was just as luxe and therapeutic as I thought it would be and these will not be the last they appear on Cosmetic Proof as their skincare is really where I am falling in love, but you guys know I am as speedy as a turtle when it comes to those skincare reviews!

Aesop is available at www.aesop.com as well as a retailer near you.
