This was actually supposed to be for the CBB November Challenge, but by the time I got this ready, I would have only gotten a chance to wear it for one day before having to do my nails again for Mani Monday. Nail polish should be enjoyed (not in the My Strange Addictions Way) and though I do my nails a lot compared to most, three times a week is where I draw the line.
This year has been an amazing year for collaborations and the Formula X #ColorCurators collections have been an incredible example of how powerful social media has become. Bloggers and Youtubers are the faces of these collaborations instead of your typical movie stars. I have loved most of the Formula X collections, but this Huda Beauty edition has totally gotten me. Every shade had me swooning!

Today, I am featuring two of the three shades from the collection for this colourblocking taping manicure. I started off with two coats of Date Night*, a deep reddish plum, and then freehanded some large horizontal lines at various heights on all of my nails using Jetsetter*, a gunmetal black with a shimmer of silver. Jetsetter is now my new favourite "black, but not black". It is just the prettiest thing ever! Both polishes were fully opaque in 2 coats.
Once the polishes were semi-dry, I applied silver striping tape along the black edges. The best part about this is that if your polish edges weren't all that straight to begin with, this totally fixes it! Yay for striping tape! This time, I top-coated right away so the striping tape has lasted more than the 12 hours it lasted for the epic Burberry manicure I did (here)!
The Formula X Huda Beauty Collaboration is available now at Sephora and www.sephora.ca
