Two years ago, Taiwanese brand For Beloved One officially launched in Canada through T&T supermarket with science-y skincare that made me quite happy. Last Spring, a little sister was born with the launch of For Beloved Girl - a collection of 6 cloud-silk masks targeting various skin concerns (focused away from anti-aging) for the younger 18-34 demographic at an affordable price point. I have all 6 masks to share with you, but I think it's less overwhelming to go through them one at a time. It's also easier for ME to keep track of any differences so let's start off with the Skin Renewal Mineral Cloud Silk Mask* (3 pcs/$12.99 CDN)!
Since this the first time talking about THIS type of sheet mask on Cosmetic Proof, I will try to provide as much info as I can on the cloud-silk mask. The materials that sheet masks are made of are often kept secret so a detailed description is difficult, but what I can tell you is that the cloud-silk material is made of a cotton that is SO MUCH thinner and softer than your traditional paper/cotton sheet mask. The fibres are so fine that they more efficiently lock in serum to better deliver ingredients to the skin. The elasticity and thinness actually remind me of the more expensive bio-cellulose masks. This mask is made with zero adhesives or chemical additives and is next to invisible once on the skin and apparently contain enough minerals in ONE mask as TWO bottles of mineral water. I am assuming the bottles are around the 100mL size, but I really don't know. This quality is fantastic and even if I was in my 40s or 50s, I would have no qualms including a mask like this in my routine!
I was originally going to talk about the Extreme Moisture Mask as well, then decided against it, but it was too late to take new photos so apologies if there is any confusion! The key ingredient in the Skin Renewal Mask is calcium lactate which is a salt of the AHA lactic acid meaning that this ingredient is all about eliminating dead skin cells and "renewing" the skin! This is supposed to be a great mask for oily skin types or if you are in need of pore-clearing, but even someone like myself with normal/dry skin reaped the benefits from this mask so don't let your skin type/condition dictate which masks are for you.
Each box comes with 3 masks for use 2-3x a week after cleansing. Sheet masks will always be a treat, but at about $4 a mask this is actually a bargain compared to some of the $12 one use masks I've seen sold at Sephora!
Ingredients: aqua, pentylene glycol, propanediol, dipropylene glycol, panthenol, carbomer, arginine, xanthan gum, calcium lactate, hydroxyethylcellulose, chlorphenesin, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, ethylhexylglycerin, propylene glycol, citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, iron oxides, fragrance, ascorbic acid, viola tricolor extract, rosa canina fruit extract, hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, sodium hydroxide, salicylic acid, phenoxyethanol, sorbic acid
Final verdict: The intention of these cloud silk masks is to introduce a younger generation to good skincare instead of face masks with glitter in them (hehe) for a palatable price and I think these are right on the money in terms of pricing, purpose and results. I had VERY smooth skin that was not tacky after use, but I did need to apply moisturizer afterwards. The ingredients in this mask are not the same calibre as thee FBO bio-cellulose line (no peptides), but they are decent. I think these are a great buy for anyone and are one of the best "wet" fabric sheet masks I have tried!
