Sheet Mask | Top 8 of 2024 (Because I couldn't think of 10)

It has been eons since I have done a Top ANYTHING on the blog, but the one thing I know well are SHEET MASKS! After picking it up as part of my skincare routine in 2018, I have not stopped and though I don't do them every single day like before, I still manage to use at least 3-4 sheet masks/week making them a beauty product I am quite familiar with! While some of the sheet masks in this list aren't necessarily ones I discovered in 2024, all are masks that I try to have on hand all the time.

VT Cosmetics Cica Reti-A 3 Step Mask (Review)

Who doesn't love an all-in-one skincare routine? I have always loved multi-step masks and this one from VT Cosmetics left my skin looking so even-toned right away and also took out the redness in my cheeks. The sheet mask material was cushion-like and soft making for a very comfortable sheet mask experience!

SHEET MASK | For Beloved One Flawless Brightening Ethyl Ascorbic Acid Bio-Cellulose Mask

I did something today that I have not done in a very long time and that was to hang out at someone else's house and play board games and have brunch with friends! Everyone was fully vaccinated and there were only six of us so it wasn't like a huge shindig, but we have all also been fairly isolated with myself and one other person being the only ones NOT working from home. It was great to see friends again even if just for a few hours and we played a game which stressed me out called "Cockroach Poker" as I am not good at bluffing especially with my husband! By the time we got home shortly before dinner, I kind of just wanted to socially decompress hence the lateness of this #SheetMaskSunday post!

I love how just as I am in the process of putting together this post, summer hits in Vancouver and I kid you not, it was 17 degrees when I left for work this morning! All I needed was a very light cardigan and by afternoon I was pretty much sweltering! Nevertheless, maybe some of you will still enjoy these products if you struggle with drier skin or you can add these favourites of mine to your winter wishlist!

Well Happy New Year everyone! We have made it to 2019, Trump is still President, Elizabeth Warren has made her bid for 2020, Justin has finally moved on from Selena and the beauty world truly became a lucrative jackpot for brands and makeup enthusiasts alike, but not without some drama. Well, you won't find that here today! I tried out hundreds of sheet masks in 2018 (quite literally thanks to my #100DaysofSheetMasks Challenge) and though it was a bit of a blur, I do have some true standouts to share that truly worked for me starting off with one I talk about a lot!

SKINCARE | For Beloved One Advanced Anti-Aging Ceramide Squalane Biocellulose Mask #100DaysofSheetMasks

Almost three years ago, I tried my very first biocellulose mask when Taiwanese brand For Beloved One made their Canadian debut in select T&T supermarkets. Sheet masks were just starting to catch on in the North American market (of course nothing is REALLY cool until Sephora starts doing it right?), but biocellulose is like NOTHING else. First developed in Taiwan by For Beloved One, the actual mask itself is made of what we all keep referring to as "biocellulose fibers", but do YOU know where those fibers come from? Our lovely friends - bacteria! Specific strains of bacteria are able to ferment glucose and produce cellulose which is then purified and made into a mask! So, essentially bacterial poop! Don't let this freak you out though because biocellulose masks are not only biodegradeable, but have long been used in the medical industry for burn victims or very dry skin to seal in and enhance moisture uptake in the skin as biocellulose fibers exhibit very low toxicity. Whether you love the science behind biocellulose masks or not, once you wear one, there is no comparison to a cotton sheet mask!

SKINCARE | For Beloved Girl Skin Renewal Mineral Cloud Silk Mask

My boss asked me the other day at our staff dinner "Do you basically wear a mask every night?" and I had to respond with "Yes, yes I do". Earlier this year, Taiwanese cosmeceutical skincare brand For Beloved One, made its official launch into the Canadian market at none other than T&T Supermarket! For anyone that has been to the Metrotown T&T in Burnaby, you will know that it is skincare HEAVEN so if you are wondering whether a makeup launch in a grocery store is weird, trust me, it isn't! The day after the FBO event in Vancouver, I got horrifically ill with orthomyxovirus aka "The Flu" and didn't get a chance to experiment in full with the line until a few weeks after. I DID end up using one of their famed biocellulose face masks in an attempt to cool down my 104 degree fever (here) and it was VERY soothing.
