MAKEUP LOOK | Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette in PINK

I wear makeup everyday for work and not just a little bit of tinted moisturizer and lipgloss, but full on corporate job, gotta look put-together makeup so wearing primer, long-wearing foundation, eyeshadow, and setting spray are all products I use 5 days a week. The only thing is that my look is one that is fairly neutral. Occasionally, I dabble in purples or I will whip out the Stila Glitter & Glow Eyeshadows which almost always has clients commenting, but generally I am a rainbow of light brown to dark brown. I do my gradient from inner corner to outer V and that's pretty much it, but then this summer neon struck! I saw the trio of Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palettes and the 90s kid in me lunged for them, but then the 36-year old woman in me said "how often are you REALLY going to wear these shades?" Turns out, pink is my jam!

After looking at swatches, I was actually quite torn between the orange and the pink palettes, but ultimately, I figured that for now with my blonde hair, hot pink is best! This was my first experience working Huda Beauty eyeshadows and for a palm-sized quad of nine shades, I felt like each shade was incredibly unique and without a dupe in my current collection.

The palette consists of five matte and four metallic shades and I found all nine to be super pretty and quite pigmented. I don't normally like mattes, but these are well done and feel incredibly silky to the touch.

I definitely needed some inspiration on how to put all of these shades together so off to Instagram I went! I do not have the skills to pull off a cut crease or even do a great winged liner so I focused on getting a wearable look that didn't ONLY look good on the Gram.

When I posted this look to Instagram, a few of you asked what was on my lips and it was those exact two lip products! Muse is actually a matte finish liquid lipstick, but when I applied it, the purple colour wasn't quite right so when I added the iridescent gloss Hypnotic, it balanced out the colours and made everything PERFECT.

Final verdict: I am very happy I bought this palette as I really own nothing like it. I am super careful with buying eyeshadow palettes now as I have so many, but this one is physically quite small and aren't huge pans of product so I won't feel bad not panning this product when I finally get too old to use it! The shades are vibrant and performed just like I had hoped so I gladly welcome this palette into my beauty family!
