SKINCARE | KBeauty Routine with Seoul Sundays

It seemed only fitting to talk about Vancouver-based Korean beauty e-tailer Seoul Sundays on a Sunday! Launching earlier this year, this is a curated set of products by some lovely ladies who, like many of us, have run through the gamut of skincare and have a fairly good idea of products that work. When it comes to Kbeauty, technology and products tend to be more advanced and have fancier mode of actions than North American skincare. If anything, by the time something hits North America (remember BB cream?), it has already been done and revamped a thousand times over in Asia. Though the Seoul Sundays product listing isn't extensive, the products that ARE there are all ones that have been tested out personally by the staff themselves and the products I did recognize I KNEW were excellent! You will often see the products in action on the company's Instagram Stories making what you might be buying more relatable to your own skincare routine.

E Nature Moringa Cleansing Balm*
E Nature Moringa Cleansing Balm

I first heard of the brand E Nature after spying on some of their sheet masks at BeautyCon last year and saw that this brand used a lot of ingredients that I would put in my salads! Not that that's always a good thing, but sometimes the thought of kale and parsley in my skincare makes me more excited about using it! When Seoul Sundays offered to send me the Moringa Cleansing Balm along with one of their sheet masks, I figured it would be a nice way to start off my whole skincare routine as an oil-cleanse is a MUST after a whole day of wearing sunscreen and makeup!

Now, I haven't used a ton of cleansing balms so I only have really two others to compare it to, but this one has no added fragrance, is vegan and had a really nice texture. When the balm started to melt into an oil, it didn't get too greasy, but you could really see it working to get all my face and eye makeup off. I could also use it in my eyes without any blinding issues and it rinsed off very easily with water. The only other cleansing balm I would want to try to compare this with is the Banila Co. Clean It Zero Balm, but all in all, this was a great first step to a double cleanse.

COSRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence*
COSRX Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

This product is a cult classic, as are a number of COSRx products, and while "snail juice" products has been a popular thing in Korean skincare for awhile for its natural calming benefits (snail juice is high in allantoin), I've never gone out of my way to seek them out. Maybe it's because my skin doesn't need a whole lot of calming, but when I finally tried this essence out I found that the texture of my skin felt softer AND this also paired nicely with my sheet masking routine! As an essence, this is something I will keep around just because it was so light in texture and seemed to provide both moisture and improved skin texture that felt like it came from within.

E Nature Squeeze Green Watery Sheet Mask*

This is the sheet mask that caught my attention on Instagram, one because I thought the packaging was super sexy, and I liked the concept of shot of "green juice" for my skin! I love drinking cold pressed green juice so the thought was very enticing!

Though I wish these green ingredients were a little higher on the ingredients list (they are all around the 50% mark), it was still a pleasant mask to use with the mask fabric being thin and stretchy equating to a perfect fit. My skin was also nice and hydrated afterwards with a slight tacky residue, but all in all this is a mask I would use again. The pricing for this mask on the Seoul Sundays website is quite reasonable at $3.50 CDN being cheaper than places like Yesstyle.ca which is the only other place I have seen it easily available to Canadians.

When it comes to all products, Seoul Sundays makes the ingredients readily available online which really I think ALL skincare brands should do because it is a huge determining factor for whether I think something is worth the price or is truly going to be effective for me. Whenever they can, the pH of the product is listed as well which is going that extra step that only skincare lovers can appreciate, but I love that this information is available as it only shows that the folks at Seoul Sundays are true skincare junkies!

Korean Beauty Routine

Though the selection isn't what you would be expecting in terms of seeing more commercial brands like Etude House and Tony Moly, this is the place where you would come to find more niche Korean beauty brands that often have a higher focus on ingredients and efficacy instead of cartoony packaging (which I still love). I was really pleased with the selection of products I received and will be placing a personal order on my own as they have some new Dr. Althea sheet masks made of silk that I MUST have to share with you!

Free shipping on all Canadian orders of $60+ which is pretty easy to hit when it comes to skincare so have fun everyone!
