MAKEUP | Lancome Monsieur Big Heart-Shaped Eyeshadow Palette

I realize as I am writing this that the last makeup look I did on here was also pink. I guess I'm just feeling girly this month, granted the Huda Neon Obsessions Palette is a bit more of an adventurous pink compared to today's romantically feminine palette! The Lancome Monsieur Big Heart-Shaped Eyeshadow Palette is a limited edition palette filled with 12 rosy and neutral shades encased in a metallic pink heart. Totally collectable, right?

If any of you are like me and collect eyeshadow palettes, this one is such a keeper, but the practical side of me wishes it were less "bobble" and more flat so that I could store in with my other palettes. It also tends to get covered in fingerprints which drives me a bit mental, but oh well.

The fun part about this palette, other than the shape, is the theme behind the colour groupings as each grouping of four shadows corresponds to the progression of a crush up until the big date meaning from sweet and demure to "come hither, Baby"!

Lancome shadows have never been the most buttery in texture. I remember really getting into all things Lancome when I first started blogging and I have a couple of Colour Design 5 Pans that I like just fine, but now that we have so many newer and smaller brands like Natasha Denona, Pat McGrath and Juvia's Place with REALLY buttery AND pigmented shadows, it's hard to be excited or have my mind blown. What I will say about these shadows is that they performed like a classic eyeshadow, swatched nicely and though they weren't super pigmented, they weren't UN-pigmented either.

The shadows were reasonably soft with the darker and shimmery shades swatching more intensely. If this were eight years ago, I probably would have been happy with this since I would have no means of comparison. One of my favourite shades was the metallic red which is something you don't see very often since red is a hard colour to get that is safe to apply to the eyes!

For my look I wanted to use the "Big Crush" set of shadows and channel a Kpop star with peachy lips and eyes and pale skin.

Final verdict: While I haven't gotten into the "Big Night" shadows yet, I don't get a chance to do soft pinks too much as a neutral eye look so I was quite pleased with how everything turned out! A lot of you guys loved the lip colour, which I adore now, so as cumbersome as this palette is, I really don't have any pink palettes in my collection that aren't neon like Huda so if you are looking for a neutral other than browns, give this baby a swatch and see what you think!

The Lancome Monsieur Big Heart-Shaped Eyeshadow Palette can be purchased at Sephora and Lancome counters across Canada.
