SHEET MASK | Ultru I'm Sorry For My Skin S.O.S Jelly Mask

Have I mentioned how much I love my FaceTory subscription? I have discovered so many cool brands and masks that every month has me so excited to put all this stuff on my face! Though I discovered the brand Ultru through the Beauteque mask subscription and subsequently fell hard for the clay sheet mask, Facetory also carries the brand and included a summery-looking jelly mask in the August 2018 box that I finally tried out this past July! Hey, don't judge me! At least it wasn't expired and even then, I would probably would still put it on my face!

Ultru I'm Sorry For My Skin S.O.S Jelly Mask

Purchased by me as part of the FaceTory yearly subscription

The S.O.S Jelly Mask is similar in purpose to the Sun Bae Mask I reviewed recently in that this is a soothing mask for after being out in the sun all day. The ingredients that are highlighted include: centella asiatica (high in antioxidants), broccoli sprout extract (anti-inflammatory), cocoa extract (promotes circulation) and evening primrose extract (soothes dry skin and is a favourite anti-aging ingredient). All sound like great things, right? In terms of efficacy, thankfully three of the ingredients are in the first half of the ingredients list with evening primrose being closer to the end. There is also dimethicone just after centella asiatica, so this could potentially mask the other supposed actives in the mask.

Though ingredients are important, the coolest thing about this mask was the essence. It had gold flakes in it and was just a very fun texture to experience! The gold dissolves eventually, but seeing the flakes was kind of a surprise.

This mask had a seriously thick essence and there was so much left in the packaging despite squeezing some out to use as "sheet mask primer" that I was able to use the rest the next day to moisturize my ENTIRE body.

Final verdict: This was tough because I thought the texture was so cool, but because I don't really like dimethicone in my skincare I can't say that I would repurchase this mask. It definitely worked and I wouldn't doubt that your skin would feel so much better if you had a sunburn or sensitivity and you put this jelly mask on your face. In this case, the dimethicone is probably a good idea as it seals in moisture just as well as preventing things from going in. The gold flakes alone made this mask worth trying, but there are other soothing mask options out there for sure!
